About this listen
Feeling like you’re missing key skills as a teenager? Look no further! This book has everything you need for the coming years to become successful at living an independent life.
But where do you start as a teenager?
Teenagers are flooded with too much information from the internet, and it can be difficult to navigate what is helpful or hurtful to learn from. Even as adults, it can be challenging to have a grasp on life skills without an early start.
Do you get anxious about trying to be successful in the future?
It can be an anxiety-inducing rat race for teenagers, but it doesn’t have to be that way. We are here to give you the proper tools to transition to the next stage in life while skipping the difficult trial-and-error process. Do you feel like you have gaps in knowledge about certain skills?
It’s hard to know where to start or what you could need to learn. Honestly, we’ve all been there. There is no need to stress from now on as you have this amazing book to guide you through your journey. There is a wide array of life skills and tips that are crucial to successfully living independently.
Even if your teenager has never been open to learning life skills, this book is distinct in supplying them with tools that even adults could benefit from learning a few things. We have put a lot of thought into our audience and how to address their perspective from tweens to at-risk youth that could use this knowledge.
Regardless of your background, everyone can have gaps in knowledge about day-to-day skills. The life skills covered in this book are easy to follow and can make an impact on your life.

Story
The gender gap reaches beyond the workplace: it also impacts medical diagnoses! While 13% of boys are diagnosed with ADHD, only 4.2% of girls are, and it’s not because girls don’t have it: it’s because we are misdiagnosed! To make matters worse, the older we get, the harder it is for medical professionals to diagnose and treat us properly. Often the only time a medical professional will notice it is if we have children who are diagnosed. By then, you’re used to living in the chaos of your home and brain!

These past years have been tough, and teens may have had it the hardest. From social isolation to re-integration, economic uncertainty, the pressures of academic achievement in an increasingly competitive society, and navigating the dangers of the online world, teens must face unique challenges that most adults never experienced in their youth. Unfortunately, these challenges have resulted in 91 percent of Gen Z young adults experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, making them the generation with the worst mental health on record.

But such a worldview overlooks the important things in life: personal contentment, family time, spirituality, and the health of the planet and those living on it. A preoccupation with money and possessions is not only unhealthy, it can also drain the true joy from life. In recent years, millions have watched their American Dreams go up in smoke.

Great resource
This book is full of tools and topics that teens and young adults will encounter. Reflection questions are embedded throughout making the format fun and engaging. Key takeaways review and highlight important information discussed. Thorough information on nutrition, food labels, cooking and so much more. As a parent to a new driver I appreciated the chapter on car care. Also, I found helpful the information on careers and resumes as I have a college student. The format is quick and easy to follow with periodic anecdotes throughout. Will make a great gift.

Packed with Practical, Applicable Skills for Teens
Parents, buy this book for your teenagers!!! This is a great guide for helping teens become independent and confident in their abilities to do things on their own and to make smart, well-informed decisions. I love the way the author breaks down tasks into easy to follow step by step instructions. Like, how to clean your room: what order to things in, and how to do each step. And tons of practical, easy recipes with step by step instructions on how to make them. No more skipping meals, this teaches your kids how to make simple, healthy meals that they can actually do and will enjoy. An essential guide!
