Publisher's summary

The Gospel of Matthew reveals that Christ is God incarnated to be the king-savior who came to establish the kingdom of the heavens by saving his people from sin through his death and resurrection. Christ, as the son of David according to the flesh, came as the proper heir to the throne of David; as God incarnate, he came as the first God-man. God named him Jesus, yet he was called Emmanuel ("God with us") by men. As the new king, Christ was recommended by John, anointed by the spirit, and tested by the devil. Having defeated the devil, he began his ministry to establish the kingdom of the heavens. Matthew presents the kingdom of the heavens in three aspects, the reality of the kingdom of the heavens (5:1 - 7:29), the outward appearance of the kingdom of the heavens (13:1-52), and the manifestation of the kingdom of the heavens (24:1 - 25:46).

Author Witness Lee reveals that the reality of the kingdom is simply the king himself, sown into humanity as the seed of the kingdom. This kingdom seed, containing the kingdom life and nature, will grow and develop in the believers, constituting them the reality of the kingdom, until it is brought to full maturity as the manifestation of the kingdom. In particular, it explains the crucial difference between the kingdom of the heavens and the kingdom of God, and presents a clear understanding of the Lord’s prophecies concerning Israel, the church, and the nations at the consummation of the age.

Easy to eat and digest

If you're not a reader or are having a hard time building the habit of reading, you can still listen to the life studies on audible whilst reading some other book. This was a great life study and the messages really healed a lot of my concepts. I'd recommend this audiobook to anybody who really wants to know the Bible in a thorough way.

Thoughtful and clear

This is a masterful work by Witness Lee . He opens the Book of Matthew with its emphasis on the kingdom of God in a way I never had seen before. I believe too many Christians neglect the matter of the Kingdom and yet it is central to the message of Matthew. I am very appreciative for this publication by Living Stream Ministry and hope to see many more Life-Studies by Witness Lee.

WOW!!!

This reading of Matthew makes the Bible make sense. The parables become up to date and real. I recommend this listen to all christians. Unbelievers would do well to listen because it will answer many questions they may have about the reality of Jesus Christ.

LIFE Study of Matthew

For the serious lover of God's Word, the Life Study series by Witness Lee is deep and satisfying. I highly recommend all of them. We are called to grow in the Life of our Lord as a branch in the Vine. These studies focus on that LIFE.

Praise the Lord we are the Generation of Christ.

Human concept is different from divine concept and the book of Matthew is too difficult and mysterious. I agree with that, with genealogy of Jesus and the names on Matthew Chapter 1, possible you will skip reading on it. Oh, we really need to pray for the Lord to give us vision and wisdom while reading or listening to the book of Matthew. Currently, me and my hubby have bible reading everyday and it's really blessed to have the Life Study of the bible in audiobook version. Praise the Lord.

Without Jesus Christ, there's no goal, no consummation, no conclusion, the completion perfection prophesy and the church- the body of Christ! We are the Generation of Christ.

Let's pray to have a heart that seek the Lord. Unspeakable full of Glory! Let's call on His name a thousand times or more, Oh Lord Jesus!
