Publisher's summary

New expanded edition!

This audiobook bravely bridges the gap between the spiritual and the temporal (physical) factors of addiction and addiction recovery. It pulls the essential elements of many psychological theories and fits them into an eternal paradigm as can only be seen through the eyes of those who are inspired by God. The listener will be taken on a journey from seeing the battle from high in the heavens down to the gritty and sweaty clashing of swords a warrior must experience day to day.

We live in a time when many are in bondage before they are aware that there is a war. As with many examples in world history, one cannot get out of bondage with just will power and thought control. Warriors must be trained, and then trained some more, in the classroom and on the field. They must learn, that in order to escape the bondage they find themselves in, as did warriors thousands of years before: Like Dragons Did They Fight!

Great Book / Whispering Performance

The principles and tactics taught in the book are PHENOMINAL! Nothing wrong in that regard. My only commplaint was that the narrator was too "timid" and sounded like he was trying to whisper, or trying to keep a soft voice, tone, and pitch in narrating. It reminded me of how my grandpa would talk if he were trying to talk softly to one person in a room where other people would be engaged in their own conversations. I felt like the narrator could have been "projectory" and "powerful" in voice, tone, and pitch, and less timid and soft.

good metaphorical approach 2 overcoming addictions

this is a good metaphorical approach to overcoming addictions. Incorporates many principles of addiction recovery, but in a story context of the Book of Mormon / gospel. While I am sure it would help addicts and their families,, it would be nice if the author did not claim such scientific basis without setting forward any objective evidence or testing. I imagine that behind all of the claims of science, there is a little social science/interpretation of interviews, and a lot of experience of opinion expressed as fact. But there is no demonstration of objective hypothesis testing, so while im sure in his expertise, he can detect association, it is tough to show definite causality without being obscured by confounding variables. It's hard to run hypothesis testing in a prospective manner when the subjects content is supposed to be confidential. if you can ignore some of the doctrinal fallacies, and cultural assumptions woven throughout this book, I do think it would be a solid framework to change.
