    Wonderful Teaching Device

This is a wonderful teaching device! I teach 6th grade and to be able to have my students listen to some of Lincoln's speeches out loud is extremely useful... Much of Lincolns writing is difficult for them to read. The language to wonderful but above thier heads. Having them listen helps immensely!
It is a little difficult to listen to because it is soo long and has no index so I have to listen to every track of the disk to find what I am looking for.

The direct words of Abraham Lincoln

It is fantastic to read the writings of Abraham Lincoln directly and unabridged. This man’s legacy is actively being assaulted in order to further the political aims of a movement that disagrees with the principles and values that Abraham Lincoln acted on during his life. It is excellent and refreshing to read the thoughts and reflections on a great number of topics which Lincoln shares directly through his writings. By those writings, one has the opportunity to appraise and discern the character of the man, and judge for oneself if the many varied claims made against Lincoln’s character today are true or false. I highly encourage any person who wishes to understand the true character of the man to take the simple step of listening to this short selection of some of his most important writings

    Nice sleeping aid

I was disappointed in this audiobook. I wanted to gain some sort of insight of Lincoln but found myself beaten into daydreaming by the on and on droning. Not to mention the slow speaking and monotone voice that seemed to say nothing. I found myself asking where the last 30 minutes went and what did I hear? I am sorry I wasted my credit on this one...
