very nice!

being a gm with very little time to read modules due to work and life, this is perfect! I own the book but have never had the time to read it. Now i've listened to it while going to and from work and got many good ideas, inspiration and advices. Very good reader! I hope there will be more cyberpunk 2020 Audiobooks!

Inspiring content, Brilliant Narration

This is an incredible audiobook narration on some of the most inspiring and refreshing "guides" for Game Masters I've heard. Even if you don't play cyberpunk 2020 like me (I play cyberpunk Red), I was able to gain so much insight and context to the genre and world of Cyberpunk with a near prophetic insight that is extremely relevant to 2021's current issues. If you aren't a game master or you're not a fan of Cyberpunk 2020, My favorite part of the entire book wasn't even about the rules or how to guide your party but a chapter on Sociology and what really is a Cyberpunk. Again, can't recommend enough

unexpected as an audiobook but worth it

first RPG book I've seen in this format, and a great one to pick for such. I do hope more classic source books for Cyberpunk start getting this treatment.

Timeless advice, with maybe one or two caveats.

I just started running a Cyberpunk campain and after years of running high fantasy and sci-fi games getting cyberpunk right was a challenge. This book helped a lot with that though, and I like to think I'm a better DM for it though. However, there's a few bits of advice that you can tell was written in a time when Player vs DM sentiment was a lot more prevalent than today. Tip for any new DMs looking for interesting plot hooks and diversions the section on trying to put problem and power players down a peg is excellent for any use.

A solid guide to running a cyberpunk game

This nearly 30 year old book holds up very well, I have been prepping to run a cyberpunk game because I believe in the product RTG (R Talsorian games for the uninitiated) has made and feel its a nice reflection of our world. The narration by Colby gives the words life and feels frequently more like you're listening to several people talk about their ways of running cyberpunk and ideals on how they approach it. this preformance is only bolstered by The audiobook's "foreword" by Colby that lets you know for him: it's not just another pay check but something he keeps close to his heart. The team who wrote these words being read are clearly just people who know a bit about rpgs passing down their knowledge, and some of it isn't exclusively cyberpunk but can be applied to other RTG games and even other systems entirely such as Traveler and D&D. It's full of nice framing devices and how to look at different situations such as the fact a lot of pop culture action movies and fiction can be easily applied to Cyberpunk's universe. Mind you not just the obvious stuff but one awesome example of how the Hobbit could be reworked into a cyberpunk campaign. It also goes into tones of play and levels of play to keep in mind, do you want a fast paced punk rock street level Brawl over a band showdown or do you want a slow building world changing symphony of a campaign steeped in espionage that crest into a glorious realization? cyberpunk allows for both. It also has some more "crunch" stuff to it(crunch being items and numbers and how stats effect thigns) as well as how to address & stop problem players from ruining the game for others and potentially themselves.

This advice can be extrapolated to any game system

I remember when this book came out way back before Amazon existed and gaming tomes were hand pressed into clay tablets. I thought this book contained awesome well thought out advice back then and it is still my go-to book as a Game Master's How-to guide today. I even bought a copy for one of my daughters when she mentioned she was going to run a D&D game. Much of the advice in this book can be extrapolated to any genre of roleplaying game. Finding it in audio book format made me very happy. They have even narrated the sidebars! Highly recommend!
