Ashley Cleveland
Your deepest pain can be your greatest hope. This powerful memoir from Grammy Award-winner Ashley Cleveland reminds us that even in the lowest times of our lives, beauty can shine through.
Ashley Cleveland grew up in a Southern family fractured by alcoholism, homosexuality, and the collapse of her parents' marriage. She knew from the start that she was the "good-for-nothing" black sheep of her divided home, and she quickly learned to play the part. Yet in her destructive days of drugs, alcohol, and sex, she encountered a forgiving God who was relentlessly faithful. Change did not come quickly. The brokenness did not disappear. But Ashley allowed God to heal her, to transform her desires, to bring courage to others through her journey. Little by little she saw that it was her brokenness itself that God wanted to use. This beautifully told story will take you from the back rooms of Nashville to the churches of the San Francisco Bay area to a tender new life where one woman discovers that broken places often supply the best things we have to give away.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I finished the book this afternoon and have all ready told two people about it.What was one of the most memorable moments of Little Black Sheep?
The chapter when she describes her talk with her dad and he opens up about himself had me in tears. What does Ashley Cleveland bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The richness of her voice gave a warmth to the story that would have been lost on the written page. The two songs included on the audio book where delightful.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
i felt so frustrated at her relapses and was riveted waiting to hear whether her marriage survived her addiction.Any additional comments?
. I appreciated her honesty about her oldest child. At times the book is raw with its honesty.Compelling story

This is a reminder to never give up on yourself, no matter how far you feel you have fallen. It’s a reminder of God’s great love for every one of us.
I certainly hope that Ashley’s memoir will find its way into the hands and hearts of those that need a lifeline. This is a beautiful recollection of a beautiful life lived, not easily, not painlessly, but a life lived wildly on the razor’s edge of destruction and, eventually, wildly full of hope and healing.
Stunning Honesty
