About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Brian Jacques is one of the most popular storytellers in the world. With millions of copies in print, his tales starring the remarkable creatures of Mossflower country have earned him a devoted legion of fans. Now the story continues in Loamhedge, as brave warriors stand tall against evil beasts, and bold explorers journey to faraway lands in search of long-buried secrets.

Bound to a wheelchair, young haremaid Martha Braebuck wonders if Loamhedge, the forgotten Abbey, may hold the key to her cure. To find out, Braggon the otter and Sarobando the squirrel head for Loamhedge on Martha's behalf. As soon as they are gone, Redwall Abbey is attacked by the ruthless searat Raga Bol and his villainous cronies. But what Raga Bol doesn't know is he is being pursued by a massive badger with a deadly bow, and a taste for revenge.

Whether you are a frequent visitor to this colorful world or this is your first expedition, Loamhedge will satisfy your thirst for sweeping adventure and a tale told well.

Critic reviews

"The action never lets up, the bad guys are satisfyingly evil, and the Abbeybeasts seem like old friends. The story is laced with humor, the feasts are mouth-watering, and the language is rich. Yep, it's another good yarn." (Booklist)

Redwall FTW!!

This is another of my favorites from the Redwall series. It's heartwarming and devastatingly sad. Packed with songs and feasts, friends and foes, this novel is about a summer of growing up... and of living one summer too long..

Another good story. Needs some attention to editing

Another good Redwall story but where is the editing? It’s as if they don’t even listen to it before publishing it. There are several major mistakes and heavy breathing throughout. This story had so many songs I became tired of them and started skipping them.

My Favorite Story Ever

This has always been my favorite book since I was a kid. I always cry at the end. The friendship that old Brag, and Saro have for each other is everything I want in life.

Quality upon quality

Masterfully mixed story ingredients: adventure, action, mirth, sorrow, and let us not forget tantalizing descriptions of a redwall feast. I am never disappoint when I crack open a new redwall book.

A Fun Adventure to Loamhedge

It's got plenty of what makes a good Redwall book: Feasts, mischievous Dibbuns, adventure, and fun characters. And the best Eulalia inn the whole audio book series.

Good story

A great story. Wonderful cast of actor portraying the role. After I started listening I remembered that Loamhedge had more songs in it that most of the books but they were preformed nicely. It was funny that Mr. Jacques' error of pronouncing Fenna's name and a member of the crew correcting him was left in either as an oversight or as an Easter egg

The Hares

I will always appreciate a good Redwall story, but the last two or three have had some truly obnoxious hare characters. It’s getting a bit much I say, wot wot!
