Publisher's summary

The world is ending, and you have a front row seat.

The Warden Kevin Whitten and Harold Parker met in London, England 'that day.' The day the dead stopped dying, and long before they managed their way back to America, to Adrian Ring and the test they would all face together.

The only reason Kevin and company survived their helicopter crash in Covent Garden was the sacrifice of a small unit of Royal Marines.

This is their story.

London Burns follows the story of Hal and Kevin, parallel to the AUD story London, and beyond.

Included as well is the Elmoryn dark fantasy short story Roots Grown Deep, a tale about why its always a good idea to stay inside the city walls, and why you should never, ever disturb the things buried in Elmoryn's wilderness.

London Burns is the second installment in the Tales from the world of Adrian's Undead Diary series. The open-ended series chronicles new stories in the world of Adrian Ring, expanding on the original eight book series. The first volume is titled Unhappy Endings.

Awesome Perspective, and an introduction...

I love that Chris often presents an event in the AUD universe from different character's perspectives. This story shows the other side of the Protector's trip through London from the viewpoint of the British Marines. We get a peek at who they are, an introduction to Hal and see how the events unfolded for them. We also get to see what they thought about their "Packet"..! Also included is a taste of the Elmoryn series featuring a story about the awakening of the Ravager Tree- which has the power to infect and control the living with its spores- and compel them to feed it- bringing it people and animals to devour. I must know more.....

Great Addition to the AUD side story world.

A great side story about how the fall of London happened in the AUD world. I keep getting pulled deeper into the AUD world and I can't get enough! You have to listen to this series if you love zombies and a great apocalypse.

Another Hit by Philbrook!

This is just another classic hit by Chris Philbrook. The basis of the story is done within the AUD universe, but definitely stands on its own. You can listen to it and the ending leaves you wanting more. It's a natural segway into the AUD main story line. WE NEED MAWR!

A Perfect AUD Story

I've listened to the AUD series multiple times through now. Every time I get to the part where the helicopter crashes in London,
I've always wondered what happened to those British commandos. Now I finally have my answers.

Chris Philbrook absolutely knocks it out of the park as usual telling a grounded and engaging story in the early days of the zombie apocalypse. Though we only get a slight mention of them in the main books, there was enough to peak your curiosity of what happened to this crack squad of Her Majesties finest. Even wiith only the brief period of time we get with these characters in this short story Philbrook manages to bring them to life and give you a sense of who each of these characters are and their bond of Brotherhood. For any fan of the mainline AUD series I couldn't recommend it enough.

Military vs. zombies

I love this short story because I love the military aspect of the unfurling of the zombie virus in a big city- London. You feel like you are traveling through the disaster of a cities undoing with front row seating. You get to learn a bit of back story of “that day” for a few key characters in the AUD series.

More from the AUD storyline

While this was a stand-alone story, it fit in with the story line of AUD and added to the unfolding of the events in London. The author provided a moving storyline and fleshed out the characters. I liked that the focus was on characters and action and not focused on gore.

London Burns

As always, Chris Philbrook wins again with this fabulous chapter in the AUD universe.
It is edge of your seat suspense as soldiers battle their way through London! Will they make it? What comes next!
The narrator does a great job with different accents!

Love it! <3 Gimme more! :-)

My only complaint is that this isn't any longer. <3
I love this addition to the AUD series. I enjoy hearing side tales and backstories, so the "Tales from the World of..." series is totally my cup of tea.
And I haven't read the Elmoryn series yet, so that extra short story may provoke another dive into the worlds of one of my favorite authors.
