Publisher's summary

When one man can't reconcile with the wolf inside of him, he knows all he can do is run. Take the wolf with him and run away from those he doesn't want to hurt. But will that be his greatest mistake?

The pack is coming together, but one wolf would rather be alone with his demons than united as a team. In the second installment in the Olento Research series, Connor runs from the Lucidite Institute and his pack, fearful of what the wolf will make him do. All of the men describe feeling the impulses, the desires that are unquenchable, coursing through them. But Connor knows he has a lesser chance of resisting those impulses due to his background. And after what he almost did to Adelaide, he can't risks it happening again.

However, Mika hasn't given up and he's more driven to retrieve the werewolves he knows belong to him. He plants a mole in the Institute and then goes to work creating a werewolf meant to catch other werewolves. One that is stronger, faster and bigger than those in the original pack.

Meanwhile Zephyr is quickly following leads and tracking down members of the pack, but will he be one step behind Olento Research? Can he rescue his team and stop Olento Research before they capture their would-be assassins?

And the plot thickens...

The Lucidites have one hell of a job on their hands with the wolf pack they have been trying to round up. Adelaid and Roxy have been working together to gather the entire pack that have escaped the evil doers that created them before they hurt innocent people. After capturing a few of the crew, Mika the mastermind behind the wolves, has created a "super wolf" to track the escapees down and bring them back. Connor fled the Lucidites in fear of hurting Adelaid, and all hell breaks loose with Adelaid when her father's book goes missing. Where is Connor? Where is Ren's book? And why aren't we trying to find the guys that created this nightmare?

Mika, (the evil mastermind behind the wolves) is at it again. He has turned his loyal assistant into a "super wolf" in order to track the escaped wolves down and bring them in. Adelaid and the gang are searching for Connor, and when they find him he is on the brink of death. Roxy is being Rox and toying with Zefer's emotions. Then there is the case of the missing book, that Adelaid feels totally lost without because it is the closest thing she has to her father. The feelings I see developing between Connor and Adelaid gives me hope for the spunky red head. She needs someone to show her how to love, how to be a real human being. With her unique abilities, she was never able to get close to men before, and now she may have met her match. Will Connor survive long enough for Adelaid to find true love? Well with the constant danger they are always in, who knows! Zefer just may make an honest woman out of Roxy...well crazier things have happened, lol. What I'm mainly interested in is how they are going to shut the guys down that stole the Lucidites research to begin with! They need to be the priority, not the wolves because as long as they are around, they will just keep creating these un-natural creatures from unwilling people. I hope we have a break through in the next book in this regard. Otherwise this was another outstanding read, and great sequel to the first book!

Narrator Review

Elizabeth Klett returns to voice Adelaid and the gang. She continues to do a fabulous job telling the story as well as draw me into their world. As long as Elizabeth is around, I will continue to follow. 5 Fang rating for the narrator!

Big Bad Wolf

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it is not a traditional werewolf story and certainly not a fairy tale about wolves. Great writing, likeable characters and overall fun. Second in the series that continues to pull you in and make you want more.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Certainly at times it did. The fight scene between the good werewolves and the big baddie was a great scene. Sarah Noffke did a wonderful job of describing the overall scene as well as the details without detracting from the fast paced flow of the fighting.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Klett – was your favorite?

Not sure if I have a favorite anymore. I loved her depiction of Rox in the first book, but I am leaning more towards Adelaide. Elizabeth Kent brings her frustration and attitude to life, making you feel for what she is going through even though at times you wish you could reach right into the book and smack her.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but as much as I'd like to I have enjoyed Sarah's books so much that at times I prefer to give the story a break to let the scenes sink in before continuing.

Any additional comments?

Sarah continues to surprise me with each story she writes. She does an amazing job of creating lively characters as well as well written and insane story ideas. This book does not disappoint!

Bridge

I really like Connor & feel bad for the guy. I had a hard time connecting with the other characters in this book. Now, it's the 2nd book in the series and felt the quintessential type of bridge. Starting book 3 now. Happy reading!

My star ratings include these 5 elements:
.5★ story line
.5★ engaging characters
1★ use of world building/descriptive
1★ being well edited or narrated
1★ the ending

trouble

trouble with a capital T comes with a new type of werewolf designed to bring the original group back. there's an invisible spy at the institute, and Conner is out to kill himself. things are definitely not good and Adelaide is still struggling with her grief and bad relationship with her son. there is some violence and no adult content.

Conner's story

Labeled the Lone Wolf, Connor tries to run from those he wants to call friends. This story might hit some of those who read this close to home as Connor struggles with his addiction.

Never disappointed

*I was provided a free copy of this book by the author for review purposes*

Book 2 in the Olento research series was not a disappointment!
It starts off right where book one finished and and leads the reader deeper into the lives of our beloved dream travelers at the Lucidites institute ... with a werewolf twist of course.

We are introduced to many new characters and reunited with a couple old ones (my favorite Lucidite returns in this book!!!)

The next installment can't come soon enough for me.

Once again Elizabeth Klett is back with her amazing narration and I couldn't be happier!

A mess to clean up

What made the experience of listening to Lone Wolf the most enjoyable?

A good Narrator and a well written story

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If time permitted.

Any additional comments?

Another series of Characters to love by Mrs. Sarah Noffke. She never disappoints. What a rich world she creates for her readers to get lost in.
The Canis Lupus project of the Olender Research Company, is proving to be a mess to clean up for the Lucidite Institute. Now Olento has a new project in the works.
Adelaide has taken on some of her father's attributes as to giving people at the Lucidite Institute nick names and Ren's "forget the rules, because they don't apply to me attitude."The institute had an unwelcome visitor sent by Olender Research to get more information. We also find out more about the FBI agent Rio.
I love this new series from Sarah Noffke. It is unlike any werewolf story you have read to date. What brilliance to add the Dream travelers gifts. We have all the faves from the institute like Tray ,Aidan,Pop's and many more.

Brilliant story

This is a brilliant second audiobook in the series and the narrator once again does an excellent job. Ashamed of attacking Adelaide, Conner has run from the Lucidites and taken up his old habits to mask the guilt he feels. With Mika continuing to evolve new twists on humanity, it's an even more perilous race as to who will find Conner and the remaining wolves first, the Pack or Olento Research. This fast paced story has lots of suspense, intrigue, action, humour, loss and hints of romance, the narrator dose a great job of making the listener feel the emotions in this story. We see both the brutality and the underlying humanity of the werewolves and your heart aches for them, but you also see the beginnings of acceptance and hope. Noffke's characters have depth; they have emotions, flaws, self doubts and longings that feel real and you become even more attached to them with each chapter. In this book you can not help but love the sarcastic repartee, the captivating characters and a storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you craving for more.

Excellent

Any additional comments?

Excellent narration, non stop action and drama made this story unputdownable.
I really like Conor in this series but I am finding Adelaide a little too abrasive for my liking. I'm hoping that she learns to mellow a little bit or at least be civil in the next book.

A tense and compelling follow up to Alpha Wolf.

Looking forward to continuing with this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.
