About this listen

Just when you thought things were starting to simmer down in Cotton Creek, something new crops up. And this time the attention is on the Sweet gals. Hannah may have found her dream guy in Cooper Quinlan, and she's damned determined to plan the perfect wedding - no matter who she drives crazy. Everything would be perfect if she could just ignore the little bursts of excitement she gets every time she sees Bryson Weathers.

Cody isn't being much help. She doesn't give a hoot in hell about fancy dresses and weddings. What she does care about is the clandestine relationship she has with Jaxon Riggs. He's made no bones about the fact that he isn't looking for forever. She is, but if it's not in the cards, then so be it. Riggs trips her switch and she's not about to pass up one moment with him, nor is she about to let anything prevent her from being with him.

That resolve was holding pretty firm until an old friend, Belinda, shows up with a three-year-old daughter, Bernice, in tow. Belinda is sick. If she doesn't get a kidney transplant she'll die. And she wants Cody to commit to being Bernice's godmother, to raise her if Belinda dies.

It's a tall order, but Cody falls in love with the little girl and is ready to say yes. Then all hell breaks loose when Belinda says that Bernice's father is right there in Cotton Creek. If it's true, it's going to cause a whole lot of trouble.

Come share the joys and woes, the danger and the fun as we prove once more that the old saying "nothing ever happens in Cotton Creek" needs to be changed to, "Looking for trouble? You've come to the right place."

Tissue Alert!

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audio-book by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Jumpin’ Jehosephat! Where to start? The Sweet girls have got it going on in this one and the book is definitely aptly titled.

Hannah Sweet has dreamed about and planned her wedding from the time she was a little girl, and she’s found the man who can afford, and is willing to give it to her, Cooper Quinlan. The only problem is, whenever she is around Bryson Weathers, she gets little shivers running up and down her spine.

Cody Sweet is resigned to the fact that she will probably be the town spinster and will never have a family of her own. Her goal is to enjoy her life to the fullest which, right now, means having a fling with Jaxon Riggs. Jaxon is quite a bit older than Cody and has made it clear that he is not interested in anything serious, or even sticking around Cotton Creek. Cody is OK with that, but deep down has hopes of changing his mind.

Life is good, until Belinda, an old high school friend of Cody’s shows up in Cotton Creek with a tale of woe and a three year old daughter in tow, looking for Cody’s help. From that point on chaos reigns in Cotton Creek and none of their lives will ever be the same again.

This was my favorite book of this series, and J. Scott Bennett’s narration is partially responsible for that. He has the uncanny ability to become the characters he’s reading, which is truly a gift. The story itself starts off with a first chapter that will take your breath away and have you swooning. It never slows down from that first chapter on, and will trigger every emotion you have. Cliché but true, I laughed, I held my breath, I cried, and swooned, not necessarily in that order. I felt every one of those emotions over and over throughout the book. Grab some tissues and read this book!

Cute little Story

I received this audio book free for an honest review. This was a cute story with not a lot of story substance. There was some suspense toward the end that built up throughout, but it seemed to fall a little flat and happened pretty fast at the end. The story of Hannah and Cooper was not really what this book was about. They were secondary to Cody and Riggs' story. I haven't listened to any of the other books in this series, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had no preconceived idea before I started listening. I have heard the narrator before in other books, and, in my opinion, is okay. I have enough other series that I need to finish that I'm not sure I will come back to this one. Maybe later.

This CAN'T Be the LAST Book in the Series!!!!

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook as a gift at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I have enjoyed each book in this series, but this has to be my absolute favorite. I'm hoping that Ciana Stone continues to write more for these characters and their world of Cotton Creek, Texas. There are still so many characters that have stories to be told or expanded upon. I love how she writes in 3rd person so that J. Scott Bennett can narrate for all characters POV in an all knowing manner. He does an excellent job bringing the characters and their world to life. I fully enjoy listening to his performance. This is a MUST listen Series!

WOW, way to end a series

Loved it, great story and loved how everyone was included.
Thrilled that Cody found her place, don't want to spoil it for anyone so that's all I'll say.
This series has been one of my favorites, love the storylines but I have no date that Scott Bennett's narrative was the icing on the cake for me.

This book was given to me by the narrator, author and I`m voluntarily offering my review.

The End?......Say it Ain't So!! :`(

Last in the series!! I'm so SAD!!! (They really need to make a boo-boo lip emoji...) The drama in Cotton Creek has ratcheted up, and we witness some of our old friends fall in and out of love, as well as experience trouble, unexpected responsibilities and danger. We also get to meet some new friends who I hope we will see more of in the near future. (Spin-off? please?) There are steady ups and plunging downs on this ride, and Joe is there to lend advice and try to guide the heartbreak and chaos into peace and contentment. Someone else said, "Have tissues handy." I concur.

J. Scott Bennett is the voice of this totally awesome series, and his performances have been instrumental in making it such an excellent listening experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in the series and SO hope we will be treated to more stories about these sexy new neighbors (a cameo here and there wouldn't go amiss). Can't recommend this enough!

I was voluntarily provided this audiobook from the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an UNBIASED review, and that's just what this is.

Great series

I loved the way Ciana told this story over several years. Then she brought all the characters together in and out the series. I will definitely read more books by this author.

Mr. Bennett did a wonderful job and has a great voice. I found his voice very relaxing and his style of telling the story. Great team.

be sure to read the other 5 books

I was gifted this audio ARC for a honest and unbiased review from the author/narrator
This is book 6 of Ciana Stone's series of Honky Tonk Angels series of which this is the only one I have listen to. I really enjoyed this book and will be starting the series from the beginning. With this book I was able to listen to it without the reading first books. Which I believe was due to the wonderful writing of Ciana Stone.
J.Scott Bennett's narrating was far above average. He was able to make me feel like I was inside the book living the story.
I highly recommend this audio book to anyone but suggest you listen to the first 5 books.

Another great addition to the series

Any additional comments?

Another great addition to the series. As well a great way to end it. Once again the story pulls you in immediately and holds your attention until the last sentence. This book was just as entertaining, engaging and enjoyable as the rest of the series if not more. These are character's that we grew to know with each new book and enjoyed seeing them again in some way in each new installment. Technically you could read each book in the series as a stand alone but it is really worth your time to start at the beginning. Just for the pure enjoyment of the series.

I have enjoyed following the series and even though I'm happy with the way the series ended, I'm sorry that it's over. Hopefully through some sort of spin-off series we will be able to revisit some these characters in the future.

There is never a dull moment in the town of Cotton Creek. There is still plenty of drama, suspense and romance weaving it's way through the town. This story had several twist I definitely didn't see coming. Which made it even that much better. While this story revolves around Cody and Riggs finally getting their HEA which is a great one for them, there is so much more going on in this story with other characters.

Once again J. Scott Bennett does a great job with the narration as usual. He is the voice of this series. Nice voice easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great character voices. He pulls you into the story and brings every single character to life through his narration. Loved his voice for Bernice. Very enjoyable.
