This series is so good! I love small town romance, and it's even more fun when we get to go back in time for history of the matriarch of the story! This is Gabby's past and it's full of pain and happiness. As a teenager, she was forced into a situation that helped mold her future. Relationships both good and bad, career changes and moves from place to place have settled her in Helena's Grove. Now years later, the past is catching up with her. Gabby is a strong woman who has overcome so much, and it shows how she has gotten to where she is. Each piece in place, right down to her present is shows her character. But now she needs to make some new decisions as she faces her past. How will it all play out? I need to know! Bring on book 5!

Jennifer Groberg continues her narration of this fantastic series. She keeps her voices consistent from book to book and let me fall into the story as if I was there listening to Gabby talk. She knows how to bring this one to life and make it a fun and engaging listen.

Please note that if you have not read the previous books and just my reviews that this review will involve spoilers dealing with the cliffhanger and Jen and Zach’s relationship of the last book Love Takes Hold.

Love Is Strong takes place just after the ending of the previous book and the whole family is shocked to discover that Aunt Gabby has a grandson! Wait a minute: that means she had a child that we didn’t even know about! Who really is Aunt Gabby?

This book we get Aunt Gabby as the central figure! When I read the series back in 2015, Annie was my favorite and now as I read the series, Aunt Gabby has become my favorite! I was excited to learn about her past and experience her life: and as a reader we do!

Aunt Gabby is not what she seems. She really lived quite a roller coaster life with having a child that her siblings did not know about among many other things. We see the development of Gabby as she tells her life story to her family. We see her determination to get her child back over the years and this I found an immaturity to her: Wanting her child with her whole life without thinking about the consequences for her and the child. We do see her growth as she becomes involved with a man about 10 years older than her. We experience their love story which I was leery of Kevin at first, but he did grow on me.

I did have some issues with the narration this time. For me Gabby and Jen’s voices sound the same and I didn’t listen to this in one sitting. When I went in for my second sitting (driving home from work) the audiobook started and I was confused as I thought I was hearing from one character when it was the other. It was easy to distinguish the men from each other. Other than that, I had no issues.

This story shows how every step of Gabby’s life led her to where she is today. It also shows how family can be so much more than blood. I really enjoyed this one.

Love is Strong continues the story of Aunt Gabby and Helena's Grove after the powerful conclusion of the previous book that left Gabby in shock. A man claiming to be her grandson sent the entire family into a state of disbelief. How can that be when Gabby hasn't been married, let alone had a child. With a deep breath, she opens her mouth and tells her story. I can't begin to tell you how powerful it was to read of her joys, traumatic loss, forever love and hope for the future. She is such an amazing woman and the sheer goodness of her heart and soul are on display through the entire story. I cried for and with her, especially when she met Helena and her beautiful family. The story of her soulmate still stings, but as Helena told her, every experience in her life has brought her to this point. And this was home. It's a HFN for Gabby, but the real journey to meet her son is just beginning. This story is the one with the most depth, the most meaning and all because it's the culmination of everything that has come before. I am anxious to read the rest of Aunt Gabby's story!
Jennifer Groberg does a wonderful job with the narration. Her dynamic voice is filled with emotion and she perfectly moves the story with just the right pace. Fabulous!

This novel explores the truth about why Aunt Gabby has a grandson. She reveals her secret life unknown from her family and very close friends. As she retells of her troubled past and losses the story is not finished. The rest will be revealed in the next book. Nattator Jennifer Groberg did a great job.

Aunt Gabby reminisces about her life , love and adventures. Knowing that everything she experienced led her to this town.
She no longer felt lonely Making her own family and friends here.
She told them of her younger years, being with Kevin, the love of her life, her one goal of finding her son.
She always put it off,, because she didnt want the feeling of rejection.
A beautiful story of love, family is what you make of it. And finally getting the courage to meet her son.
I loved listening to this story narrated by Jennifer Groberg. She has a tender voice, gentle as she portrays all the characters.
I was gifted this story by the author and thoroughly enjoyed listening.
