Publisher's summary

In this inspiring audiobook, master knitter, teacher, and widely published knitwear designer Lee Gant shares real-life stories about the power of knitting.

As an employee of three different yarn stores, a teacher of countless knitting classes, and a volunteer with at-risk youth, Lee has had the opportunity to gather diverse stories. The stories she shares about herself and fellow knitters from around the world illustrate how each stitch and purl can comfort and calm, heal and renew. A suicidal teenager crochets through pregnancy. A dying woman finds comfort in the company of knitters. A woman finds the courage to face her estranged parents. A woman going blind realizes she can still knit - and experience life. And Lee's life, riddled with more than just anxiety, has at last become stable and productive.

This book includes stories of women, men, and teens who have experienced profound change and enlightenment through knitting and crochet.

Fantastique

Un livre plein de chaleur humaine et d'émotions. Des histoires de vie, d'épreuves surmontêes grâce au pouvoir guérisseur du tricot, qui apporte calme et bien-être.

Grab your knitting needles for a great read

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I couldn't click stop on my MP3 player I was hooked. My intention was only to listen when I was out for my morning walk......just couldn't stop listening.

Any additional comments?

I thought I was the only one who knit for comfort. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Heartwarming and Heartbreaking

If you could sum up Love in Every Stitch in three words, what would they be?

I’ve been listening to this book (while knitting) and wanted to just say how much I’m enjoying it. I’m nearly done and don’t want the inspiration to end. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried and I’ve nodded my head in agreement so many times. Thank you for writing it and putting those stories together.

Inspiring!

Would you consider the audio edition of Love in Every Stitch to be better than the print version?

I'm not sure; I haven't read the print version. But anything is better if you can knit while doing it. :)

What about Dawn Harvey’s performance did you like?

She had a lovely voice that was soothing and emotional at the same time.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was extremely inspiring, especially to a knitter.

Grab a hot cup of tea and you’re ur knitting

I found this beautiful novel shortly after Christmas, during the lull between the New Year. It reminded me of the joy of making with our hands that I do thrived with growing up, and became a lovely sound track to a few more batches of cookies and chats with old friends. Happy knitting and healing ❤️

Feminist dogma overwhelms love in every stitch

I have recently discovered books about knitting that I listen to while I knit. Most of them have been entertaining and informative. I can't say that so much about this one. While I enjoyed the stories about people she knitted with, especially her grandmother, the author's feminist bent takes center stage. I found myself skipping sections of text because it was so tiresome. Why listen to an audiobook if you're going to skip much of it? If I could figure out how, I would RETURN THIS BOOK.

depressing

All the knitting stories about child and substance abuse, sickness, and dying. Not enjoyable
