Publisher's summary

Named one of the top 10 lifestyle books for fall 2017 by Publishers Weekly.

In tales from 21 knitters, Clara Parkes examines a subject that is irresistible to us all: the yarn stash.

Anyone with a passion has a stash, whether it is a collection of books or enough yarn to exceed several life expectancies. With her trademark wry, witty approach, Parkes brings together fascinating stories from all facets of stash-keeping and knitting life - from KonMari minimalist to joyous collector, designer to dyer, spinner to social worker, scholar to sheep farmer.

Whether the yarn stash is muse, memento, creative companion, career guide, or lifeline in tough times, these deeply engaging stories take a surprising and fascinating look at why we collect, what we cherish, and how we let go.

Contributors include New York Times best-selling authors Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and Debbie Stoller, Meg Swansen and Franklin Habit, Ann Shayne and Kay Gardiner, Adrienne Martini, and a host of others.

Impressively bad narration

This lovely content is ruined by the robotic narration. Its so bad that I’m abandoning the book even though Clara Parkes’ writing is a delight.

Enjoyable listen while I knit from my stash

Great little short stories. Some make you laugh and some for a good cry. No matter how you use, consume, buy or stash yarn you will feel and identify with each story. Well worth the listen.

Love—of yarn, of others, and of self

The strength and gushiness of the stories—all starting and ending with yarn and people.

Very Enjoyable Yarn About Yarn

I love everything about this! Empowering for the Stash of collected yarn or fiber or whatever textile art materials you might love too. No shaming here:)

So Much Stash

The stories were good but even I got tired of hearing the word stash.

Awesome

Knitters loving, knitting, and living with yarn, from one stashes perspective to another. Always unwinding

Fabulous!

Another amazing book by Clara! What a great collaboration! I decided to listen to this book while I organized my own yarn stash. I thought I had far too much and believed I would never live long enough to knit it all. I really enjoyed the different perspectives on what is an "appropriate" stash. Some of the stories had me tearing up while others had me laughing out loud. I began to incorporate some of the sentiments on yarn stash into my own process. It was like having some of my favorite people from the fiber community right there beside me helping me make some tough decisions. I loved it!!
