Praised as “an intense rush of rebellion and romance” by #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Garber, this romantic and layered debut from Abigail Hing Wen is “a roller-coaster ride of romance and self-discovery.” (Kirkus)

“Our cousins have done this program,” Sophie whispers. “Best kept secret. Zero supervision.

And just like that, Ever Wong’s summer takes an unexpected turn. Gone is Chien Tan, the strict educational program in Taiwan that Ever was expecting. In its place, she finds Loveboat: a summer-long free-for-all where hookups abound, adults turn a blind eye, snake-blood sake flows abundantly, and the nightlife runs nonstop.

But not every student is quite what they seem:

Ever is working toward becoming a doctor but nurses a secret passion for dance.

Rick Woo is the Yale-bound child prodigy bane of Ever’s existence whose perfection hides a secret.

Boy-crazy, fashion-obsessed Sophie Ha turns out to have more to her than meets the eye.

And under sexy Xavier Yeh’s shell is buried a shameful truth he’ll never admit.

When these students’ lives collide, it’s guaranteed to be a summer Ever will never forget.

“A unique story from an exciting and authentic new voice.”—Sabaa Tahir, #1 New York Times bestselling author of An Ember in the Ashes

Surprisingly Good!

I didn't expect to be just as torn as Ever between Xavier and Rick. I wanted them both to win but the ending had me in tears and was more realistic and absolutely perfect! I'm a dancer/marching band geek and (though not Asian but a minority) I related completely with Ever's character and struggles. I'm a total fan!

Great story

Good story of coming of age as second generation Asian American. The roller coaster ride you take emotionally through this story.

Teen Drama

Before I bought this, I didn’t quite realize it was a teen drama. I almost returned it. The first 2-3 chapters were a bit dull and very angsty, but the story eventually picked up and got interesting. The narrator did a good job conveying emotion. If you don’t like teen dramas, you might want to skip this. It was very well written though, unlike a lot of books in this genre. I really did like it in the end and it had a lot of great themes, like being true to yourself, being proud of who you are and your culture, as well as the joy and fulfillment you get from helping others as opposed to being selfish. I’m glad I listened to it. It was worth the credit.

Loved it!!!!

This was a great read. It is a very relatable journey to not only discovering who you are but also discovering your identity outside of what your parents think about how you should live your life. We've all been there at the crossroads of what our parents think we should do and what we really want to do. At some point you have to start living your life for you and this book lays it out perfectly. I also enjoyed all of the characters and how they weren't as shallow as they were first presented. They all definently had some layers.

Teen novel better than most but still taxing

Occasionally I take a chance on Daily Deals. I would have skipped if I had read it was Teen fiction, but I pressed the buy button before realizing. For Teen fiction, it was better than the 2 other dreadful novels I've read. Its definitely teen though: "oh, does he like me or doesn't he like me?" " I'm a virgin and I guard it closely but after my best friend dumps the rich handsome, popular and distant guy, I'm in bed with him the next night!" "Ohh, I should have saved my virginity for the Hot guy of my dreams. I thought it would never be but it turns out it Will be!" on and on it went....

Good story

You will go through a lot before the story finally lands, but the journey is worth it. There is the hate to love relationship in the middle of it all, but the real story is about a girl, silenced by her parents, who finds her own voice.
