About this listen

It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea....

Annaleigh Wells and William Calloway had a love even the angels envied. It was as if the universe spun them toward one another, like the stars crafted their souls to fit perfectly together. With a wedding on the horizon, fate had a change of heart. Whispered warnings from phantoms and morbid nightmares darkened every night - but even visions of the future couldn't save Annaleigh.

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Annabel Lee", Crouch's period romance Madly, Deeply tells the tale of love so great it cannot be contained in just one life.

Review is based on the story and the narration not the quality of the audio.

Based off the poem Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe

Erica Crouch has succeeded beautifully in giving each stanza in the poem a back story.

Well written story with a few little twists told in a beautiful but sad and haunting way. You know how the story will end if you are familiar with the poem. Even though you know it's not an HEA story it is an enjoyable, entertaining and heartbreaking listen.

The story is written in a way that brings the characters to life.

Audible has this listed as horror. I personally would not classify it as horror, more YA paranormal.

Jennifer Baggiero does a really good job with the narration. Nice pace and good character voices. She is able to make you feel the emotions of the characters.

Recording does not sound professional quality. Sounds tinny or hollow as well as scratchy at times not sure of the correct word to describe it. If I had purchased the audio I would have returned it because of the recording quality.

Roller Coaster Of Emotions

This book is inspired by the poem Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe. If you are looking for a beautifully written book with deep emotional plot twists and turns then you’ve come to the right place.

This author has a talent to not only tell a story but to make you feel the story. Each character seemed real (like watching a movie in 3D) and the story was hauntingly dark and sad. Yet, even with the sadness, I couldn’t stop listening. I'm giving 4.5 stars because I was emotionally exhausted by the time I finished!

The narrator did a wonderful job. With the storyline I’m sure it was a challenge but she did great. The sound quality of my download wasn’t perfect however. I kept hearing annoying hisses that would clear up for a while then return. I downloaded twice with the same outcome.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing this book to me at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom

Sweet and sad

This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com.

This book is basically a novelized version of Edgar Allan Poe's Annabel Lee. Very sweet and very sad. Well written with likable characters. It got rather tedious at times, seeming to drag on with not much happening. The narrator was good and pleasant to listen to. Overall I enjoyed it.
