About this listen

Ilona Andrews invites you to experience the first dramatized audiobook in the #1 New York Times bestselling series featuring the intriguing fantasy world of mercenary Kate Daniels.

When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose, leaving all kinds of paranormal problems in its wake.

Kate Daniels is a down-on-her-luck mercenary who makes her living cleaning up these magical problems. But when Kate’s guardian is murdered, her quest for justice draws her into a power struggle between two strong factions within Atlanta’s magic circles.

The Masters of the Dead, necromancers who can control vampires, and the Pack, a paramilitary clan of shapechangers, blame each other for a series of bizarre killings—and the death of Kate’s guardian may be part of the same mystery. Pressured by both sides to find the killer, Kate realizes she’s way out of her league—but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

This edition also includes A Questionable Client and Curran POV!

Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this version of magic bites. I always liked the original audiobook, but hearing every character in their own voice was great. There seemed to be a problem in chapter 3 with audio overlapping.

Wonderful cast, great story, voices makes it better

I have this book on kindle, paperback and now on audio book- with the Graphic Audio version because I like the different voices of the characters and the very dramatic and active role they tell the story. When I read alone, that is how I read the story, now I get to just listen, chill, and laugh right along to the perfect voices of Kate, Curran, and all the wonderful cast that makes this story stand out in audio form. It’s perfect! I can’t wait for the next graphic audio version so I can get that one and the rest of the Kate Daniels world!

Love this series!!

I was very excited when I saw this adaptation, and it was very good. The only issues I have is 1) a couple of characters do not sound like they should, most of these characters are from the south and that is not what they sound like, in particular Dr. Doolittle is from the deep south and I'm not sure where that voice was from, it kept changing and 2) changing the pronunciation of names. Other than that a really good listen. Love Iona Andrews!!

So glad that I went with the full cast production!

I tend to go for the full cast productions and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The voices & accents are spot on for the characters and I totally recommend this to any fan of this series and authors.

As always brilliant

Hope we get all the books on the dramatised adaptation version. I’m normally a reader as opposed to a listener. I was trying to get a friend hooked on Ilona Andrews and bought it to listen, as well as a copy for her. I report 100% success, she is now addicted to Kate.

great version!

I really liked this adaptation. If you have already read the book, the only thing that may bother you is the pronunciation of names. This made me want to read the whole series again.

Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!

Don't get me wrong I like Renee Raudman. I've reread the entire series 5 times. However I LOVE the graphic audio version!! PLEASE do them all! I would love to rehear the stories with the new voices and the background sounds as well. I'm already imagining Kate meeting her aunt for the first time. I can't wait!!!!

Very good “Audio Play”, Kate and Curran are well voiced

The Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites, Book 1 introduces the series and many main characters it has a strong female protagonist, action, adventure, quest, fantasy romance, horror, murder mystery and slow burn between the love interests (over a few books). This is not the best book in the series, they get even more exciting, it is a great introduction. I listened to the entire series read by Renee so I was worried I wouldn’t like this graphic audio play but the voices are for the most part very well selected especially for Kate and Curran. Most fans of this series would enjoy this. GA really brings an already strong story to life. Nora who voices Kate is very good, spot on for how I imagined she sounded in my head. If they keep up the quality production and great characterization I will get all the Graphic audio books in this series.
