For Emily Detweiler and her family, the move is more personal. Tragedy struck Emily in Ohio, shaking loose everything she believed was firm, including her faith. Story
In 1906 I was barely over 14 years old, and it was my wedding day. My older sister, Helen, came to my room, took me by the hand, and sat me down on the bed. She said, "You've always been a good girl, Maude, and done what I told you. Now you're going to be a married woman, and he will be the head of the house. When you go home tonight after your party, no matter what he wants to do to you, you have to let him do it. Do you understand?"

Clean Historical Romance
Any additional comments?
Mail Order Compromise is Book 5 in the Kansas Brides Series and can be listened to as a standalone. This was a sweet romance that I really enjoyed. Just when Brock thinks that he has found a woman that loves him for himself and not his money, Sarah reveals that she is not a Christian - a deal breaker. She had a miserable childhood and feels forsaken by God, so she no longer acknowledges him. Through a series of dramatic twists and turns, their love and future together will be tested.
This is my fourth audiobook by Barbara Goss and I have loved them all! The narrator was engaging and a pleasure to listen to. I like that there is an important message to her stories. I would recommend Mail Order Compromise.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is my honest opinion.

Great story
LOVE this author & narrator!!! A lot of the problems people face in these stories stem from a lack of communication, but that mirrors real life. Reagan's narration seems to fit the story & bring it alive. I also like that Sarah is mad at God. One of the many reasons non believers have given me for not believing. If there is a God, he doesn't care about me. This gives Brock & others a chance to share the Gospel without being preachy.

Five stars
This is a delightful story about two people who learn to love and trust each other regardless of the obstacles in their paths and how they bring the rule of compromise into their lives so that it enhances it.
You will read about shock induced amnesia, some really evil villains, friends who are not afraid to be friends and how telling of the truth sets one free.
A lovely pairing of author and narrator in Barbara Goss and Reagan Boggs. They really do bring this story to life.
The audiobook version was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost and this is my unbiased review.

Another Great One
Another good story. I loved the way it continued the story of the brides of Hunters Crossing. This is Sarah's story. She is the one who gave her ticket to her best friend who fell in love with Pete.Sarah and Brock have a rocky road to start but in the end, they find the happiness that is for them. This is a clean mail order bride story and is filled with several twists and turns. Loved the scene with the dog.

Mail Order Surprise
Sarah arrived in town thinking her intended was a simple bank teller with a modest home and Brock greeted Sarah and assumed she was a believer like himself. Brock learned the truth about Sarah first and was ready to end their relationship until Edna showed him a better way. Shortly after their marriage trouble found the newly-weds in a big way. God has his hand in their lives and even though their marriage started out with some compromising, it all works itself out in the end.
Another great book from Barbara Goss. I enjoyed the characters, plot and narrating of this book. This book provides a great example of how a man should love, respect and appreciate a woman. Great listen and highly recommended!

Lovely Story
If you could sum up Mail Order Compromise in three words, what would they be?
Beautiful Christian romance.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Mail Order Compromise?
I loved the distinction between Christians and "church goers." At the heart of the story there is a beautiful lesson of the best things about being a good Christian, and how we can honor God, and how we should treat each other.
Which scene was your favorite?
I love the marriage lessons throughout the book. So often in a marriage we only want "my" way instead of "our" way. Compromise is important so both people can win and be closer to what we are intended to be. Sarah had a traumatic upbringing and because Brock was able to work with her, true love is able to grow.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved by Brock's devotion to the Lord, and how he prays for guidance and compromises to keep Sarah in his life. He doesn't turn her away because of her bruised belief.
Any additional comments?
The story is stronger than the narrator at times, which can be a little distracting. But that quickly fades into the background. I love the story itself, and I'm even buying a copy for my mother. It's great to share this with her. I highly recommend this book, and the author Barbara Goss. This is a voluntary review of a copy gifted by the author.
