I LOVE this cozy mystery! What a treasure to find a wholesome mystery that isn’t just another cookie cutter plot. It kept me guessing until the very end. I was a little distracted by the voice actor at first, but after the first few minutes there was a good rhythm - and the vocal work did a nice job of giving me a “feel” for the characters. I can’t wait for book 2!

A wonderful blend of faith and fiction. The main character is complex, having taken hard knocks, but the author artfully weaves In Callie’s strong relationship with Christ. It covers a serious topic, but the light-hearted & humorous blend of characters keeps it from becoming too heavy. I especially loved seeing God’s hand at work through the entire story.

Cozy Christian Mystery

No unnecessary dragging introduction(s) that would keep you waiting for the actual story to start. You'll be submerged into the story immediately but with breathing time to watch the story and the characters to unwind nicely and gradually. Although complicated and tangled mystery, it's easy to follow. I never got used to the main character voice portraying her as some naive little town girl which didn't seem to be the case apart from the tone and weird pitch of her voice. I still gave the narrator five stars because he did very good job distinguishing all other characters.
It was nice to see the faith being important part of people's lives, and struggles and the reality of Christian faith were also nicely shown.

I have never read a murder mystery before; I don’t like scary books and usually steer clear. However, I happened to hear about this one and I really liked it! There weren’t any graphic or gory parts or anything too scary. I hated when I had to take a break from listening and couldn’t wait to get back to it. The characters were very realistic and it was an encouraging reminder to turn to God even in hard circumstances.

My first murder mystery!

The central character relies on her Christian faith to confront a series of dangerous and disturbing events. Though the fictional plot points of real-world problems — greed, exploitation, trafficking, etc. — are tragic, the overall message is of hope and redemption.
