About this listen

From the best-selling author of The Fish That Ate the Whale, Sweet and Low, and Tough Jews comes Make Your Own Mistakes, a candid, short memoir that chronicles Rich Cohen’s transition to young adulthood in New York City and beyond. Both amusing and thoughtful, this is the story of Rich’s quest to lead a life outside the confines of his father’s dream for him. His father’s tough love and unsought guidance collides with the resistance of Rich’s youth, bringing forth crucial lessons that where you choose to live can define your existence, that you should be happy with unhappiness, and that in life you must always move forward.

This is a different speed than what Rich normally writes, but I’ll read anything he does. Good story, good narration, and satisfying ending.

I loved listening to Rich. I’d love to hear more shorts/stories about him and his family. It’s like sitting around the table sharing stories and with your friends and family.
