About this listen

The long awaited sequel to Ties That Bind....

Settling into her new life in Oregon and expecting her first child, FBI profiler Jo McDaniels' serenity is shattered when her old boss turns up with some devastating news. The serial killer who managed to elude them in Maine has resurfaced. Harland Briggs is every sadistic monster Jo has profiled rolled into one. Leaving his hunting grounds in Maine, he's making his way across country, leaving a path of destruction in his wake. After learning that in the past three years an alarming number of teenage girls had been abducted across the country, Jo goes against her husband's wishes and agrees to go after Briggs. Once again, her sanity, as well as her life, is in jeopardy...and the life of her unborn child.

An exciting sequel to 'Ties That Bind.'

What was one of the most memorable moments of Malice?

I loved all the suspense in this murder mystery. I found it difficult to take a break from this audiobook and I wanted to listen to it in one sitting. It is excellently narrated. The story is exciting, suspenseful and rich in character development. We get to revisit favourite characters and see how Jo, Austin and Bailey are getting along as a family.

Have you listened to any of Leonor A. Woodworth’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to a few of Leonor A. Woodworth's other performances and have enjoyed every single one of them. She is a narrator I trust to perform excellently and entertain.

A real nail biter.

Where does Malice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely ranks in the top ten percent! Anyone who enjoys Tess Gerritsen and Catherine Coulter will enjoy this one. It's a battle against true evil.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Isaac Washington, easy going boss and good friend who truly appreciated Jo's "gift", but didn't hesitate to quash her self-destructive impulses.

What does Leonor A. Woodworth bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is a terrific actress who does a superb job of fleshing out the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Jo had her baby, and everyone realizes the true value of family.

Any additional comments?

I received this book as a gift from the author for the purpose of reviewing it. It was definitely a book worth listening to, I resented being interrupted by phone calls!

Malice

Jo, an FBI profiler, newly married and pregnant is asked to join in on a hunt for a serial killer that she has been hunting for many years! It is well performed with a plot that caught and held my interest with its twists and turns.

Love the series!

--I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I love this Anne Patrick series(definitely read book 1 first)...fell in love with Jo and Austin in Ties that Bind and could not wait for this one to be released in audio. Jo and Austin, newly married and expecting their first child are faced with work challenges. Jo being an FBI profiler has been called to an unsolved case that she is very involved in. Leaving her husband and stepdaughter, she goes off to help solve the serial murders that Briggs, the suspect keeps committing. There is a lot of suspense, a little romance, a lot of family(which I love the way Jo and her stepdaughter interact) and a surprise ending!

Leonor A Woodworth again, provides an extraordinary performance. She is one narrator that I really enjoy and will get the book just because I enjoy her acting abilities.

Really well done.

I'm really en enjoying Anne Patrick's work. She's a great writer who delivers an intriguing story and injects the truth of the gospel. The Jo McDaniel's series was at times an "on the edge of your seat" suspense story coupled with drama and reality. Can't wait for her latest series to be available on audio book!

Excellent 2nd book of the series!

This book has suspense, drama, Christian values, romance, and unexpected twists and turns! If you didn't read book 1, it's ok, it stands on it's own, but you will enjoy it more with book 1 understood.
Jo's relationships have blossomed and faltered a bit, but, she has leaned on the Lord a lot more in this book.
Jo is still having to deal with an unsolved...no, an unresolved...serial murder. She has to see this out and will do whatever it takes to do so.
I had a tough time putting this one down, and wasn't easily distracted while listening!
I listened to the audiobook version of this and, once again, Leonor A. Woodworth, the narrator, rocked it! Once again, she brought the characters to life with her voice and even scared the stuffing out of me a time or two.
Definitely recommend!

Loved it!

Malice. That is the perfect word for the title of the 2nd book in this series. If you like mystery, suspense, Christian values, and romance all in one book, then this is the book for you. Anne Patrick gives us all of this and much more.

Leonor A. Woodworth, as usual, does an superb job narrating Malice. I highly recommend this book.

Captivating...

I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will definitely be watching for this author in the future.
