About this listen

Stampeding Bingbuffers. Angry locals. No good deed goes unpunished....

After hearing reports of Wampus attacks at a pipeline in rural Missouri, Mason and Emma head out to investigate. They quickly learn the Wampus is as friendly as they come. However, something far deadlier is stalking the forest.

The woods come to life around them as they run for their lives, swarming with more creatures than they could have imagined. Now, self-preservation will mean balancing their desire to protect the endangered cryptids and fighting to survive.

Can they stop what's behind the mysterious pipeline deaths? Or will their own blood be spilled like an oil slick?

Mason Dixon - The Wampus of Reeds Spring is the second book in Eric R. Asher's side-splitting New Templars Novella urban fantasy series. Looking for a witty listen full of bizarre creatures? Join Mason’s fast-paced adventures today!

Dive into the Ozarks...

Once again, Asher dives into the Ozarks, and takes along with him, his characters Mason Dixon, and Mason's trusty camera crew, Emma.  Their task? To ferret out the Cryptid that's attacked and killed a crew that was laying pipeline... Only, they find, the area full of Cryptids!
Our intrepid heros, capture a Hinge-tailed Bingbuffer on film that very first night... then things get serious. They not only find Gollywampuses, but a Whistling Wampus, a very dangerous, and critically endangered Cryptid! Dare they try to relocate it to a safer locale?
Joel L Froomkin really seems to have captured the essence of the book, and his accent is (to me, anyway) dead on perfect!
Asher makes this book a fun filled romp, as Mason and Emma find themselves running for their lives! While at the same time, he keeps me busy on Google, looking up creatures I've never heard of, just to verify their existence in folk lore, and they're in there! Lol!
Altogether, Mason Dixon: the Wampus of Reeds Spring, is an absolute Hoot! I'm soooo glad I found these audiobooks!

The fun keeps coming; can't stop listening!

I've never read a bad book in the Bubbaverse; they're all excellent. This particular branch of the "New Knights Templar" (what I call the Bubbaverse) novellas is notable because Mason Dixon probably captures the humor of the universe best. Mason Dixon just makes me smile and chuckle (and more) the whole way through. And I love the voice the narrator brings to the story.

interesting

the only thing that I wish for this series is that the author would do more than novelas. I believe the series has enough legs, protagonist karma an antagonist that it could be done in a book format..

Better on audio!

I read the first book in this series, how I wish I had LISTENED to it!

This narrator couldn't be more perfect for the series. Perfect mix of fear, awe, and humor. Captures the tone of the book in just the way the author should hope for.

Unique series, sarcastic and funny characters... fantastical critters.

This series is an addicting quick thrill!

Only in a story from Eric Asher would the Hinge-tailed Bingbuffer of Missouri be the least of your worries! Nope, Mason and Emma find themselves on a mysterious search for a whistling wampus, but find much for than they anticipated.

I love Mason's quick wit and humor along with Emma's snarkiness. The New Templars Novellas are an addicting quick thrill!

Joel L Froomkin does a phenomenal job narrating the series.
