About this listen

A rich alien beast purchases a poor human girl… A tale as old as time, right?

After losing my job, I’m desperate for a lifeline to help me support my little sister. That’s when Vorian crosses my path.

Adonians aren’t exactly my favorite race of aliens, with their opulent lifestyles and royal demeanor, but Vorian seems different.

He’s scarred, a man haunted by his past, and he sees in me a future that no superficial Adonian woman is willing to give him.

They’re crazy to not want him. He’s a brooding handsome beast living in a big gothic castle—basically my dream man.

But humans can’t be fated mates to Adonians…can they?

And what could he possibly see in me, a scrawny woman from a poor sky colony?

Fated Mates of Adonia is an alien sci-fi romance series of stand-alone books. These novels feature spitfire heroines and the sexy alien billionaires who seek to possess them. No cheating, no cliff-hangers, and a very happily ever after is guaranteed.

I can’t get past the lisp

Why did they pick a narrator who has an awful lisp. I can only get through a couple chapters before I have to stop the book. It maybe a good story but I’ll never know.

Vorian and Ellie

The first book in the A Sci-Fi Alien Romance /Fated Mates of Adonia series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I enjoyed reading Vorian an Adonian who has been damaged during a war and human Ellie, and her sister Lyra's story. There is suspense, drama, danger, and romance. I want to read the next book. i enjoyed listening to Azalea Blau which is a new narrator tell their story.

Vorian

This is a really good story. It is well written, and the characters are interesting. I liked the view into Vorian’s culture. Vorian is hot, and a warm loving guy. There were some hot scenes. It was nice they did not rush into a physical relationship until they got to know each other better. The narrators did a good job. Fresh Sci-fi Spin on Beauty & The Beast

Gleeful Goblin Review: This is a dual POV, single narrator audiobook that follows a scrappy mechanic/inventor/jack of all trades FMC trying to support her and her sister on a decaying space station. Our MMC is a physically and emotionally scarred growly alien war veteran who is on station to deal with humans in trade negotiation. Our FMC goes through some ugly work place harassment from her male coworkers, isn't backed up by her boss, and is fired for fighting back and standing up for herself which is what puts her in dire financial straights, especially since her sister who means everything to her is on the verge of acceptance to a school that's the sister's ticket out of the station. But this desperation is what pushes our MCs together, despite MMC's aversion to pretty much all things human. That sense of despair and desperation is palpable and gutting, especially for anyone who had to grow up too fast or cared for younger siblings like a parent.

Later on in the story I feel like there were strong story elements from Beauty & The Beast that come through in how the characters interact with each other during the "getting to know you" phase of relationships. Big and growly semi recluse Beast who thinks he's unlovable and undesirable so he's pretty much shut himself off from the world who melts for his Beauty who is smart, curious, and eager to explore a world that's only just opening up to her. It's an altogether very enjoyable listen and makes me eager to explore the other books in this series! 5/5 Stars.

Entertaining!

This was my first Ivy Sparks book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Fated Mates of Adonia Series, a Sci-Fi romance. Ellie and Vorian's story is fast-paced, passionate, and sweet. Ellie is beautiful, smart, strong, kind, and caring. Vorian is enigmatic, handsome, and protective. They are fated mates, and they are perfect together. I liked the banter, and the humor in the story. The world building is interesting. The side characters are intriguing. Azalea Blau did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Not Wild About the Start, But Gets Better!

Frankly, this book could have been awesome if the author had chosen a different beginning. I didn't like it at all, so much so I nearly stopped listening to the audiobook. But I'm glad I didn't. Things did improve, mostly. What didn't I like about the beginning? It starts with a rather violent fight scene, the heroine against a co-worker, with male posturing and baiting and threatened sexual molestation in a group setting. There were some other instances along those lines near the start I didn't like either, how the heroine and other women were so objectified and seen as their girly parts.

Of course, our hero is not like that. He's a wealthy alien who “buys” the heroine not to enslave her in any way—as most of his race do—but to save her from a dangerous situation. Watching them get to know each other was interesting. We certainly see the softer side of him that the heroine gradually comes to know and ultimately trust. There's a moment at the end of the book where the heroine does something incredibly stupid, and I really dislike it when heroines—or any character, really—make dumb moves that, if they just thought about for a second, they would not do. Again, I think the author could have chosen something a bit less hackneyed and predictable. Despite my issues with the book, I ultimately enjoyed the story and where the characters ended up. The somewhat-looked-down-on, unlikely hero, perhaps a bit of a cinnamon roll one, is particularly enjoyable.

TRIGGERS: Threatened molestation on screen, objectification of women, workplace bullying, profanity

Sci-fi Romance

Mated to the Alien Beast was a good audiobook. I enjoyed the narration and could always tell which character was speaking. While I did enjoy the book, I felt the conflict with the villain, if you will, was lacking and his issue was silly. That being said I would definitely check out more of the authors work.
