VERY DARK & GRUESOME, YET BEAUTIFUL!

This book is DARK and VERY twisted all while being a beautiful story. 2 people, 2 damaged, broken souls. Each with a childhood so appalling and sick that it all but destroys their humanity. A sadist meets a masochist and they form their OWN definition of LOVE.

First book very good, 2 and 3 meh

There is a lot to like about Maxim. It's got two complicated characters, one a sadist and one a masochist. Too bad these characters are never really given the chance to explore their chemistry together. In the first book, there is a lot of great sex and it looks like we are going to get a thorough description of the erotic journey of this down on her luck hooker and this Russian mafia boss. By the second book the author seems to more or less lose interest in the eroticism and instead take up the narrative space with the boring (for me) family war within the Russian mafia that get increasingly baroque through book three and sexual relationship recedes more and more into the background. It's too bad, since the first book was so promising.

Still, definitely worth a credit.

My very first mafia romance and I loved every bit of the drama and steam.

Suspense!

It was a great trilogy but interested in reading the next Vadeem and I can’t find it. It was left such a cliff hanger!

Amazing Dark Romance...BUT

First, I'm glad this was a box set because book 1 was amazingly delicious and dark. After getting into books 2 and 3, I kind of didn't get that same dark energy from Maxim.

In book 1, Maxim was had a dominating personality, he was extremely controlling, and a serious Alpha Butthole. He knew what he wanted, how he wanted, and had no problem taking it. His character was extremely STRONG, in the first installment which was a serious turn on for me.

As the story progressed, I can understand that he was trying to accommodate Frankie, but his character became a little too soft from where he began. Whereas in the beginning where he insisted on bathing her, combing her hair, and picking out her clothes...he abruptly stops and allows her to do those things because he is trying to give her options. Not to mention, in the first book, she reaches her climax with pain but by book 3, they are a little more sensual and Frankie is only participating because she understands that he needs to inflict pain to become satiated.

All and all, this was a good series. I loved the narration and the beginning, although book 3's ending seemed rushed and didn't quite finish Maxim's and Frankie's story.

Dark an Intriguing

I have never been a fan of sadism or masochism, but I was hooked. The first book is graphic! Hard to listen to for most but interesting. Books2-3 tell more of a story, it's a good story. Narration was excellent.
