About this listen

Can accidentally becoming a beekeeper lead to love?

Single mom Cordy Brown can’t catch a break. Not only does she lose her job, but the quaint English cottage she pools her savings to purchase is the very definition of a money pit. To top it off, a delivery man appears on her doorstep with a shipment of bees and announces she’s their new caretaker! Could life get any more complicated?

Ronan Thomson is only in England for one reason: to drag his underage brother back to Ireland for end-of-year exams. He quickly learns, however, that nothing about this will be simple and he finds himself holding a baby goat on Cordy’s doorstep. Falling for a beautiful American is easy. Ronan’s problems lie in the overabundance of animals, his stubborn brother, and the unexpected guest from Cordy’s past.

Can Cordy and Ronan overcome all the obstacles standing between them? After all, some things just feel meant to bee.

A Sweet Romance

I enjoyed the story. The characters were engaging and the romance was sweet. You'll enjoy it if you're looking for a contemporary read with no spice.

Sweet story

This was my first time listening to Heather Daniel. She did a great job and my enjoyment of the book was definitely thanks to her. Her voice was so fitting to Cordy and she really brought the character to life. I also had no problem differentiating between the different characters (and there are quite a few).

I'm not sure if I would have finished the book if I was reading it, it's the slowest romance I've read yet and I tend not to read closed door romance, but Daniel's narration had me captivated the whole time!

A lovely intriguing story!

I devoured this sweet little small town romance in a day! Think American southern gal meets an Irish professor in the English countryside. I won’t give spoilers but some themes I loved in the story were the small town cottage core setting, the heroine’s devotion to her daughter, the character development of both Cordy and Ronan as they seek to build something of a little homestead while also learning how to mend old wounds and build new friendships and relationships with unlikely people. The homesteady home business vibes were inspiring. Also, a man who has good sense in coffee has to be a good hero 😂. Take a small town in England, a single mom who becomes an accidental homesteader, a Irish ag professor who accidentally meets her and out of a generous heart helps her fix her house, a sweet little girl, and a goofy goat and wrap it all up in a sweet story of faithful providential love and that describes Meant to Bee. The narrator was also on point with her narration and voices right down to the Irish, English, and southern accents. Loved the variety and how authentic they were! Take a listen!
