it's a great book I highly recommend it.

steve, if you read this. I've always wondered if I could fish prospect Park. and I should probably wear deet the next time I go to ashokan reservoir.

highly recommend this book it was a great listen on audible. only one story rub me the wrong way. It annoyed me how unprepared and reckless the biologists were when working with polar bear. I should say the pilot is the biggest dope but any man going out in that environment and not thinking about worst case scenarios. made me think that the stuff taught in school really doesn't prepare you for real life. great book

Great Stories

This is such a great listen. Steve does a good job of collecting extremely interesting stories that captivate you but also help teach you what NOT to do in the outdoors. Great work and thank you to all involved.

Some fun, riveting stories

These audio books aren’t the longest (best value), but man, do they keep you on the edge of your seat. I also feel I learn a lot listening.

Moving and thought provoking

I appreciated that the towels were eventually told in the voices of the people who stories they are. I found these tales to be very moving in some cases. I also wonder how many others recognize that in all of these instances, the human beings are intent upon killing creatures in nature. The human beings meet many obstacles and dangers, and of course we worry and fret, and we hope they live. However, I find it quite interesting to listen from the perspective that mother nature is protecting her other children, the animals and creatures who do not have Guns and vehicles, and aircraft and boats with which to flee from the deadly intentions of the story tellers. So I find myself wanting to congratulate all of the above. I'm glad all you adventurous people lived, and I'm really glad the animals got away… Except for that elk. Big sigh.

Great Storytelling

Steve is a masterful storyteller. The individual stories being read by the people that lived it is incredible. You can feel the agony in their voices. This book will have you squirming at times and laughing out loud at others. Highly recommend.
