Publisher's summary

All’s fair in love and sports...until her boyfriend comes home.

Basketball was Christine’s ticket from high school to college and her dream of becoming a scientist. The cocky new kid at school was getting in her way, and into her heart.

Dylan knew his snarky new tutor was smart, gorgeous, and a great basketball player. He just didn’t realize she had a boyfriend, until after he kissed her.

Now he has a choice, play fair and wait for Eddie to screw up? Or fight to win back Christine’s heart?

entertaining fun sweet YA sports romance

An entertaining well written good clean young adult romance. This sport related engaging high school storyline was interesting, humourous, drama, had conflict, strong feelings, admiration, feelings of loyalty,  romance and was realistic.  The characters are fun, well developed, athletic and had great chemistry.  I enjoyed the secondary characters adding to this amazing storyline. The narration was wonderfully done. A really wonderful job of portraying each characters and their emotions.

Cute & Interesting Read

Cute story with some serious sides (which we’ve come to expect from Julie L. Spencer) that is a really good read for some lazy afternoon.
This narrator? So so good for this character!
Liked this one much more than the first!
The third one? I think I need to read like right now

Cute YA romance

Cute teen romance! I liked that it was about a girl who was very smart and very athletic. I didn’t love her devotion to her boyfriend who wasn’t a great influence. As a mom of an almost 17 year old girl I cringed a bit thinking how hard that has to be as a parent to watch. But the parents seemed to be fairly absent and very trusting.
All in all a good, quick listen! I liked it and would recommend for anyone who likes a clean YA romance.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet YA High School Sports Story

Story: 3.5 stars

A good story about a High School girl’s basketball player trying to choose between her boyfriend who just got out of jail and the new kid at the school who she has made a connection with.

It’s well-written enough that we connect with the characters and all the romance stays sweet.

Narrator: 3 stars

Ms. Heiser has a good voice for this story. She has the intonations of a female jock and that’s excellent, since those are the characters she is trying to bring to life! She reads well, with good pacing and expression. My only complaint is that there was no difference in her voices; everyone, male and female, sounded the same.

Teen love

This was a cute story of a girl that was a bit of a tomboy growing into a a young woman. Confused by her attraction to the Dylan, the new kid in town that challenges her. She is a star athlete and he can’t compete with her but he challenges her in different ways. What he doesn’t know is that he shouldn’t be attracted to her. She has a boyfriend that has been in juvenile detention for two years and is about to be let out right when Dylan thinks he has nearly won Christine’s heart.
This is a cute story but I was a bit frustrated with Christine for having conflicting thoughts. She couldn’t decide which boy she wanted to be making out with. Dylan on the other hand I like much better as a character.

Meh

Story was a little annoying. It's hard to relate to and "root" for a girl who is an idiot. Christine is supposed to be a smart girl but waits 2 years for a guy who deals drugs. Yeah, no.

Narrator wasn't my favorite either.

held my attention

I enjoyed this young adult romance. There weren’t really recurring characters from the first book, but I was quickly drawn in to these characters and their story. There is definitely a few surprising aspects. It held my attention.
