About this listen

The Philippine Sea Plate is the deepest, most unexplored realm on the planet. Hidden beneath its ancient crust lies the remains of the Panthalassa, an ocean that dates back 220 million years. Vast and isolated, the Panthalassa is inhabited by nightmarish species of sea creatures long believed extinct.

Tanaka Institute, Monterey, CA: Angel, the recaptured 76-foot, 100,000-pound Megalodon, has birthed a litter of pups - five females - far too numerous and aggressive to keep in one pen. One solution: a Dubai royal prince is building the largest aquarium in the world and seeks to purchase two of the "runts".

The deal hinges on hiring Jonas Taylor's 21-year-old son, David, to be their trainer. Jonas reluctantly agrees, and David is off to Dubai for the summer of his life - not realizing he is being set up to lead an expedition that will hunt down and capture the most dangerous creatures ever to inhabit the planet.

It's a great series from an entertainment experience. Some storylines last and new ones evolving. All of the books in the series have their place. If you look for reasons to complain, you'll find them. However that is true with everything. Just enjoy this for what it is... a great series to entertain and provide escape from reality.

MEG: Hell's Aquarium
by Steve Alten
One of my frivolous delights is a monstrous-type book to read at night like a late night B movie I use to watch as a kid! Popcorn and a monster book at night is so devilishly fun! A no-brainer, just lots of thrills and fascination! Especially if it's an extinct creature! This is perfect for that category! Lots of suspense, giant megalodon, and more giant creatures! Unpredictable and exciting! Great narration!

Excitement and suspense!

Be prepared with your copies of Vostok and Meg book 5 because this book has an empire strikes back style ending. I bought Vostok after reading The Loch and found out it's both a sequel to The Loch and the Prequel to Meg 5 and have finally made it through the first 4 Meg books. It wasn't a disappointing story at all but you need to ingest it's sequels imeadiately after

Gets you ready for Vostok and Meg 5

This was a fine novel. it's always interesting to listen to and be terrified by these stories! Growing up in Florida I've always been afraid of sharks however there's so much to learn about the sea as well! I loved the narrator, great job!!

Great story!

I hope this gets made for a movie or a three part mini series because all the meg series have to be included.

This one introduces huge new beasts of the deep and they are amazing. The amount of research that had to have gone into this story is very exciting. Alten's book are always adventurous and well paced. Highly recommend.
