Publisher's summary

From the best-selling author of the MEG series comes an action-packed trilogy that takes place during the four-year gap between Meg (book one) and The Trench (book two). While the stories focus on Angel, the Megalodon pup that was captured at the end of book one, in Survival, Steve Alten delves into the major characters and the challenges they faced in being caretakers of the apex predator of all time.

New Direction...yes please.

This read like I was continuing right off the first Meg Book. I like the direction this is going rather then the future of the series with old Jonas Taylor and his hot shot son who keeps finding clueless but constantly horny women to sleep with. Really Steve take the time to develop female characters that not defined only because they sleep within character.

Disappointed

Poor choice for a narrator. Story was okay, but no as good as the previous books in the series.

loved it. much better than the last 2 books

really enjoyed it and was excited to see celeste and Benedict back. i love Keith reading as usual but i dont like how he does Benedict. I was disappointed to remember that someone else read the trench. as good as Keith is he cant touch how awesome the other guy was with Benedict and celeste. they should have brought that guy back JUST for their 2 voices.

A short novella taking place between books 1 and 2

An interesting retroactive story taking place between The Meg and The Trench. Most intriguing is that this appears to be part of a larger story which, apparently, will be told in serial fashion across multiple novellas. A fun variation, as long as you are patient.

I gave this 4 stars for an overall score, simply because I was hoping for a full story. Entertaining and the author even works in the Meghead fan nickname that readers have dubbed themselves with. Recommended for followers of the series, but will likely come up somewhat confusing to new readers.

too short

I love the Meg books. I guess I didn't pay attention when I purchased this book. it was so short!! I expected a full length book.

Alten hits another...

Alten hits another homerun. As with all of the other Meg novels, this one is a joy to listen to. I am excited that he has decided to further develop the characters from the Meg series.
