About this listen

In four months, I’ll be free from our fake marriage.

But in nine months… I’ll be giving birth to his heir.

Nico clawed his way to the top, now ruling as the ruthless Don.

His chiseled jawline and smoldering dark eyes would make any heart skip a beat,

but I’m his unwilling prize. As they say, break my heart twice…shame on me.

Each day is a battlefield. His presence is a storm—intense, inescapable.
His grip on my waist is a possessive claim I can’t shake.

Four months of pretending, of playing the obedient wife—that’s all I have to survive before he sets me free.

But somewhere along the way, the act became real.
Our sham marriage turned into stolen kisses and heated nights.
His touch, once suffocating, now sends electric shivers down my spine.

But when the time comes, will he let me go? Or will his legacy bind me to him forever?

The clock is ticking, but my belly… is growing.

Great book

I loved the story it is very well written everything flows correctly. I do think Aurora is very selfish only thinks about herself, I get it the mafia is hard, but she never ever cares about Nico loving her she wants everything her way and she's the one whose right. Other than her needing to grow up a bit the story is amazing!

Disappointed

The story was difficult to follow, mainly due to the audio performance. However, I would not judge a book solely on the performance. The female character was unbelievable, which kind of tanked the experience for me. I tried to relate engage, but there so so much unnecessary information which further distanced me from connecting with the story.

Uhh WTH?🤬

I was somewhat enjoying this until one my biggest pet peeves occurred. First of all I have had more than one child and unless there is some new technology there is absolutely no way you can tell the sex of a fetus at 7 weeks into your pregnancy. Now on to the irritating part..why do women always withhold their pregnancy from the father? Not only that but they always have a friend or two that supports this silliness.

Virtual Voice narration ruined the experience

The story was good. However the virtual voice narration ruined the experience for me and made it hard to follow the story.

Having the main male character sounding like a young girl and there being no inflection to indicate emotion made the discourse confusing (especially during the sex scenes) and totally unbelievable at times. This was ludicrous compared to the cover art and times when it read "in a low voice". Plus I could hardly tell whether it was Nico or Aurora talking which added to difficulty following the story.

Most human narrators will modify their voice tones for male and female characters and emotions. The virtual voice was so monotone and steadily paced that I didn't even realize when the book ended. I doubt I will ever listen to another virtual voice book.
