He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn't keep him from coming out.
My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn't know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target.
My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I'm the only monster who can save her.

Worth a credit? Yes absolutely.. and I’ve already got the next book lined-up ready to play. It’s a beautiful, romantic, tender, heartbreaking, dangerous, twisted tale of beauty and her beast.. but this is no Disney story. There’s sizzling chemistry, sex, danger, splashes of humor, character growth, good secondary characters and a love that shines from every riveting chapter. Perfect dual POV narration by Muffy and Zachary who brought the characters and the many many emotional feels to life.. and delivered an outstanding listen.
⭐️ AN ADDICTIVELY AWESOME LISTEN ⭐️

I didn’t want to put the book down, very action packed and I truly enjoyed spending my time listening to it, both narrators were amazing.
The message of the girl wanting to “heal” him and him needing her to save him is actually a harmful message in my opinion (but that’s just my opinion). The proof of love was lacking something. And there was some plot holes.
However, this is still a good read!
Captivating, but...

Mercy is a hard to relate type of character but there is something under the surface that really intrigues you to find out more. You may find yourself in love with Mercy before the book is over.

I loved Mercy (Phoenix) and his amazing moral compass. Despite his insanely difficult upbringing, he was such a good person deep down and would die for "his girls" that he saved and protected on a daily basis. The fact that he was covered in tattoos made complete sense when you understood what he had gone through and why he felt more comfortable in his skin that way. I love that this book brings to light the fact that people are always going to be judged by how they look as opposed to who they are and I loved it even more that Mercy's reasons for being the way he was made you think and eventually completely overlook the fact that he was covered in tattoos from head to toe. By the end, you're glad that he is the way he is and would not want him to be any different. People will always be quick to judge, its in our DNA, so I always like a good book or character that has the power to change that unfortunately very human inclination to judge someone based on something only skin deep. I think being able to change the reader's perspective entirely on a character is an excellent ability for a writer to have and I praise Anastasia for that.
Other than a few strange editing issues with the audio (a couple repeated lines and an entire chapter that seemed to jump ahead of the story and then repeated itself later but in a different tone from the reader), the narration was excellent. I am a huge fan of Zachary Webber and once again, he did an awesome job of portraying a very different character than he normally does. I also enjoyed the raw narration from Muffy Newtown and thought she was a solid choice for Becca. I definitely enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. 5 stars.
Covered in ink.....in the best way
