About this listen

Two rivals. One enemy. And an ending no one saw coming.

When Antonio Forte met Lauren Bradley, he never expected that making the choice between a possible relationship with her or destroying her company in a hostile takeover would be a hard one. Antonio has always put business before pleasure, but, for the first time, he wants both. After proposing a merger of their two companies, Antonio is hoping Lauren accepts his offer so he can show her the world and together they can have it all.

In a world dominated by men, Lauren's leery of anyone willing to show mercy - especially the very handsome, smooth-talking Antonio. Lauren doesn't trust easily, especially when it comes to someone who is threatening to dismantle her company, but she'd be lying if she said she didn't find his offer tempting. After finally deciding the path she will choose, a bigger problem emerges - the real enemy is lurking in the shadows and closer than she ever expects.

Merger is the follow-up to Acquisition in the Takeover Duet.

OMG!

I could not put this down! Chelle Bliss pulls you back into Antonio and Laurens life. The business deal is still ongoing, the heat level between these two is smoking, and now an unknown enemy shows their face. The narrators will kidnap you!

Ok story and narration

The book was ok. At the beginning, the main character's misunderstanding of a one-sided conversation almost derailed the story. Instead of getting clarification, she chooses to draw her own conclusion and starts acting irrationally. Fortunately, the situation gets resolved and the story back on track. The rest of the story was mostly enjoyable.
The male narrator was good, the three stars are mainly for him. The female narrator constantly sounded like she was running out of breath or being strangled, it was distracting.

Eh.....

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have read it if I knew the male narrator would drive me mad!

Would you ever listen to anything by Chelle Bliss again?

Yes I love her books, but the male narrator must go!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Brian Pallino and Natasha Soudek ?

Sebastian York hands down.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

I love her books and I wanted to like this one, but it was slow. Definitely has potential as a kindle read instead of narration.

Great Merger

Loved this story and the overall Takeover Duet series. Lauren and Antonio have a wonderful story, from the board room to the bedroom. I loved strong Lauren and compassionate Antonio. However, Antonio is not only physically strong, he is also a strong leader of the number one company in the aerospace industry. Lauren's personal life history is satisfied by Antonio. They complete each other. Great story with great narrators.

just okay

This conclusion to this duet was only okay for me. I guess I was expecting a bit more suspense after that cliff hanger. that was resolved within an hour into the book which to me was rather lackluster. then it didn't seem anything much happened after that.

It is hard to explain without giving away spoilers. I guess if your expecting something exciting and suspenseful after that ending in acquisition, then keep your bar low. But Antonio is a very swoony and romantic hero so I enjoyed that. The narration was top notch, but id probably only rate this 3.5 stars. honestly it could have just been one book and id had probably given a higher rating. I just got bored for a bit in the middle. overall It's a nice little love story.

Very little plot and a lot of filler

Once kidnapping was resolved the rest was predictable and boring. Not interested in drinking games or repetitious descriptions. Antonio’s Family sounded interesting - especially twin Stefan’s- and perhaps we’ll have more stories on them but please no more “duets” when the story can be complete in one book. Waste of money.

Happily ever after

I loved this book. I thought Antonio would blow a gasket if he didn’t find her.

Loved the narration!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

So once again life kinda threw me a curve ball and cut into my reading time. I picked up the audiobook after reading a chapter because I was going to be busy with errands and such. I'm so glad I did. Brian Pallino and Natasha Soudek both did an amazing job with the narration giving the story the real life dimension. Brian nailed what I thought Antonio would sound like and was phenomenal with the other characters as well. Natasha was the perfect voice for Lauren. Her male accents were not so great but I enjoyed nonetheless.
The story picks up right where Acquisition left off. And that issue was resolved fairly quickly. I loved the sides of Lauren and Antonio we get to see in this book. I didn't like how flip-floppy Lauren was about her feelings. She seemed to just all of the sudden to want everything. That just seemed rushed to me.
Overall a good conclusion to the duet. I'm excited to see what Chelle has up her sleeve next.

All of it was mediocre

The accents by the narrators was not that good and the author kept repeating the same ideas over and over again. It was an ok story. Entertaining enough but got quite boring at times.
