Entirely unbelievable world

Its a bit confusing here. how is it that everyone at the school seems to know the endowed exist, while people outside the school "wont believe x happened."
Imagine if Harry potter was set mixed in a normal private school, voldemort was the principal and malfoy was his son. However muggles still have no idea magic exists but also they dont act all that surprised. Theres so much that you have to ignore for things to make sense here, and not much makes up for it.
Theres the mystery of his father, which if you have payed attention at all, you solved in halfway through this book. Spoiler alert, nothing happens with it in this book. Its so hamfistedly forshadowed.

Oh the nostalgia! Harry Potter meets A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I remembered this series the other day and immediately looked it up on Audible. It’s been a joy to listen to again. The narrator’s voice is soothing and hypnotic. The story is interesting, charming, with a good balance of humor and seriousness, and is delightfully dark. I’m looking forward to reliving the rest of the series!

Cinematic

it's really well written, with a lineup of proper events and a lot of context cues leading the reader to have to fill the obvious gaps in storytelling
beautiful writing style

Interesting

this was a very interesting story that reminded me somewhat of the Harry Potter books but instead of Harry Potter it's following Charlie Bone and the other children of the red King. and I believe that anybody who would enjoy the Harry Potter books would enjoy these books as well were this one was really good.
