About this listen

The Cold War is over, and chaos is setting in. The new President of Russia is trying to create a new democratic regime. But there are strong elements within the country that are trying to stop him: the ruthless Russian Mafia, the right-wing nationalists, and even revanchist Czarists. Op-Center, the newly founded but highly successful crisis management team, begins a race against the clock and against the hardliners. Its members face an uphill battle. Their task is made more difficult by the discovery of a Russian counterpart to Op-Center - but this one is controlled by the same repressive hardliners. Two rival Op-Centers, virtual mirrors of each other, exist. But if this mirror cracks, it will be much more than seven years bad luck.

Narration is not very well done.

I tried to finish the book but could not get past the herky jerk reading

Russian Mafia, Days of the Czar. Op Center

Would you consider the audio edition of Mirror Image to be better than the print version?

Neither is better than the other but I do believe the audio enhances the experience of reading the print version.

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer – was your favorite?

Peggy the British spy was my favourite character. Who doesn't love a sexy British spy?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment that moved me the most was when Orlov put his life, the life of his son and wife on the line to do what was right, therefore saving countless lives and Russian democracy. (Although with that megalomaniac Putin leading Russia, in reality it is run like a dictatorship).

A very "Cold War" tale

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend Opt Center 2 - Mirror image to all hard core Tom Clancy fans and the ones that liked the first book inte the serie. It's a well written story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mirror Image?

The description of how to spy with the help of comics was interesting I was sorry when it turned for the worse

What three words best describe Michael Kramer’s performance?

You need to get used to his way of reading. Everybody won't like his voice.

Any additional comments?

The story feels a bit dated. I hasn't aged with grace. As I'm living in sweden and have been to St. Petersberg i found the descriptions of the places more interesting then the story. It is not as good as the first one in the serie.

True Feelings Remembered

Rarely do I find things that give me reason to shed a tear, but this book made me remember what it’s like to serve with people whom you never knew to become peers and partners you don’t forget. To all who have served and lost a comrade, I salute you.

not as good as the first much better than the Thir

the first book of option was better than this one but this one was better than the third was I had listen to before this one. the writing is bit better but the narration has done much better. unfortunately the writer goes Ad nauseam Way Beyond what Tom Clancy did and his first book Hunt for Red October. that book made some people I know not want to read another novel by Clancy I on the other hand, wanted more. ...
but not this much

Starts out slow but is a good read/listen.

Narration is good, story drags initially Amhoping remainder of Ops Center books are a bit polished

Not true to Clancy's attention to detail

Lots of mistakes in things like military titles and other things which show a lack of familiarity with the military. Amateur mistakes which are disappointing from an author approved by Clancy.
