About this listen
Miss Mary Bennet is the last unmarried Bennet sister. She believes she will live out her days as a maiden aunt, seeking quiet in the libraries and parlors of her father's and brother-in-laws' homes. On a visit to Pemberley, the estate of Fitzwilliam Darcy, her sister Lizzy's husband, Mary begins to feel more is possible than her planned life of solitude. Among new friends and with new confidence, Mary opens to new feelings when she meets Mr. Nathaniel Bingley.
Nathaniel Bingley, at the insistence of his cousin Charles Bingley, finds himself at Pemberley. After Nathaniel's years in the West Indies studying its intense flora, he is ready to seclude himself to compile his work into a book. But Nathaniel could not say no to Charles, who was one of Nathaniel's few kind relatives after the deaths of his beloved parents. Soon, Nathaniel also finds it difficult to say no to his own feelings about the lovely Miss Mary Bennet.
Can Mary and Nathaniel look beyond their plans and accept the grace of love at Pemberley?

Story
Colonel Fitzwilliam should have been happy facing retirement. No more Napoleon, no more tromping the Continent, and his distant cousin had unexpectedly left him an estate. What was more, two of his favorite people, Darcy and Elizabeth, were travelling with him to visit his new home. But the colonel wasn’t happy, not when he was forced to watch Darcy exchanging enamored glances with his wife. No, he wanted to pitch his cousin out the window. It didn’t help when Darcy kept lecturing him on the joys of wedded life - as if women like Elizabeth Darcy grew on every tree.

Elizabeth Bennet travels to Kent to escape her mother’s histrionics, hopeful to find respite in visiting her oldest friend, Charlotte Collins. Instead of the reprieve she desired, she finds herself trapped and miserable. Elizabeth’s only relief is derived from her morning rambles, where she finds great solace in the strangest of places—walking with Mr. Darcy. His steadiness, kindness, and dependability greatly oppose her previous perceptions of the man, and yet she cannot help but continue to compare his character in Kent with the man she had supposed him to be in Hertfordshire.

Love this series!
What a cute story. Glad to read/listen a happy Mary Bennet story. Great plot pairing her with the perfect person for her. I love the entire Love at Pemberley series. They are a delight to listen to with the voice of Kate Sample and the stories are sweet, funny, well thought out and well written. In particular the descriptive metaphors and similes. I have all books in the series and listen to them frequently. They are so relaxing and even put one on right before I go to sleep. Kate is a wonderful narrator. I hope Reina Williams and Kate Sample team up again for more P & P stories.

It was quick and sweet
Awww book 3. I was excited about this one because I want Mary to happy. I always want her to find love. Poor thing.
The story follows Mary who is the last Bennet sister left unwed. Everyone, but her, has found love, which she has resigned herself to this fact and will live out her days as a maiden aunt who loves her books and her music. However, this is quickly going to come to end when Nathaniel Bingley arrives. He is the cousin of Charles and is back from his long time in the West Indies.
Like the others in the series, this is very, very sweet. I adore Mary and Nathaniel. They are perfect for each other.
The love was pretty quick, but it took forever for them to admit it to themselves and each other. I do wish the ending was not so abrupt. After giving Mary the cold-shoulder for a while, I do believe Nathaniel should've had to work a little bit to get Mary to say yes to his proposal.
The narrator was fantastic. Perfect for Mary!
In the end, I loved it. It was quick and sweet and I loved our characters. I did want Nathaniel to do some begging and pleading before she said yes. But alas, Mary is sweeter than me ;) I'll stamp this with 4 stars.

Umm it's okay...
I read A LOT of Jane Austen fan-fiction. I like the idea of this story and it could have been amazing, but... It was too wordy in places and not wordy enough in others. Very choppy in the reading. There is a lot of "and she said" "and she then nodded". I will probably read more by this author because I can't get enough of the Bennet family, however I do feel this one should have been priced lower due to the quality of work. This is just my opinion...

Too fluffy even for chick lit
Any additional comments?
The amazon.reviews for this book have roughly 4 stars so it may be the performance that ruined this book for me. The narrator's voice is is actually pleasant and she has a decent accent and good diction but the flow in which everything is read is a bit painful. I took me weeks to go through this book it was so hard to sit through.
The author uses far too much description, every object and moment is imbued with too much metaphorical significance, it really slows down the narrative and makes it kind of cheesy. The whole book is both overly sweet and unnecessarily melancholic. Both Mary and Nathaniel muse endlessly about their loneliness, inability to understand love and lack of acceptance. Those are normally legit feelings to muse about but their was so little action and so much musing it was waaayyyyy too much. I've read some good Austen fan-fiction but I'd pass on this one.
