Publisher's summary

In this fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling series from Edgar Award winner James Ponti, the young group of spies takes on New York City in another international adventure perfect for fans of Spy School and Charlie Thorne.

The City Spies head to the Big Apple when a credible threat is made to a young climate activist who is scheduled to speak in front of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly. With Rio acting as alpha and a new member in their ranks, the team’s mission to protect a fellow teen takes them on an exciting adventure in, around, and even under the greatest city in the world as they follow leads to the outer boroughs, the UN Headquarters, and even the usually off-limits stacks that extend deep under the main branch of the New York Public Library. Meanwhile, Mother has run into trouble in DC, leading the rest of the crew to help save him from the wrong hands and prevent the entire operation from being exposed!

Excellent stoy, but narrator has done better

This installment of City Spies had all the wonderful twists and turns I’ve come to expect in the City Spies books. I will not give anything away, but we learn more about Mother’s humanity and the pasts of the other Spies. This book, however, tells the story of Rio in detail. This is his book, My only critique lies with the narrator. Her voicing of the Spies proved confusing at times as she sometimes lacked the differentiation of voices. She has done better in earlier installments. Still, the book is excellent. If you’re a fan of the Spies you will enjoy this book; if this is your first encounter, do yourself a favor and dig into previous installments.

Dynamic & Dramatic

This book contains a lot of dynamic and dramatic stories and moments. I felt lots of thrill while listening to each part of this book and I also liked that narration very much. I liked that each character had it's own voice and accent. It was much easier to know who was talking. I especially like the part where Rio performed magic! Highly suggested to listen!

Every book combined

This book didn’t feel like a new book, but like a combination of the other four. It mentions so many other missions and has key aspects from each book.

Amazing book

The accents! You can guess the speaker by how they talk. Great story as well.

AMAZING!

I loved the conflict between Kyro and Clementine. This was amazing I NEED another book! Some series can't last long and get boring but honestly City Spies had me hooked all the way through.

Excellent story line!

Well rounded characters … it seems demeaning to call them characters … protagonists and antagonists! Clementine is presented as an enigma and the more you think you learn about her the less you realize you really know. That plays well against getting to know each protagonist better.

Well thought out. Well written. Extremely engaging. Always leaves you satisfied, but looking for the next book.
