About this listen

My crew betrayed me.
Had me thrown behind bars and ripped away from the woman I loved.
Too bad, they underestimated my thirst for revenge.

This Christmas, I vow to paint these wintry streets with blood.
Make it all red snow.
But there’s just one problem.
Zuri.
The woman I was forced to abandon.
The one who still haunts my dreams.

Now, as the snow blankets the city in white, and revenge burns hot in my veins, I'm faced with a choice.
Do I follow the path of retribution?
Or do I dare to reclaim the love I lost?

I enjoyed the story but not the reading. Too robotic with mispronounced words. It was very distracting.

Gripping

I warmed up to these characters and found it to be a sweet story. I blame the virtual voice for my lower rating as it took me a while to really get into the story, because inflection and pronunciation were off and it was distracting. The story is entertaining and worth a listen

A nice Christmas 2nd chance story with edge

The AI stood out the most with the dragging voice and yes there were no emotions visible in this story. Although I can still visualize the characters and scenes they are much better with emotion and the different tones and voices

Relationship

The story was creative, like John Wick meets Count of Monte Cristo. I enjoyed the arc of the main character Dante. AI voice narration needs work, but it didn’t put me off from finishing the story.

Great story, AI narration left me wanting

During those intimate times, the voice didn't have the needed emotion to ignite that scene.

Liked the story and the two lead characters. Love, betrayal, some redemption and reunion made it enjoyable in spite of the narration.

Unfortunately the Narration

Great storyline. On audible, the narration is done by AI. It’s not too bad. Certainly it’s odd to not have vocal inflections as you would expect, but it’s clear enough who is saying what and how they are reacting to the situation. Actual killings and a sex scene are muted due to the this format. But I kind of liked that.
For the full effect, read the actual book, which would still move quickly and hold your attention.
Overall, I’d say 3 stars for narration and 4 stars for the writing, character development, and storyline.

I rooted for the bad guy!

The story was great but the virtual voice is just too hard to listen to I've struggled through the last hour cuz I wanted to hear the end of the story I don't know whose decision it is to keep using virtual voice that's the wrong one That's why most of the new books aren't listened to

AI

The AI narration was absolutely not a good idea. There was no emotion or inflection in the voice. There were times I could tell who was speaking. It was so flat and monotonous I almost returned the book eventougj it was free. I only suffered through it because the story seemed to be great, however, the narration kept me from fully enjoying what could have been a good boom.

Flat, Monotonous, Dull Narration

Would have probably been a pretty good book and story if not for the virtual voice…
No emotion.
No proper pausing.
Saying cook instead of cock… which is hilarious.
Boooooooo.

Virtual voice is HORRIBLE!
