About this listen

For the first time, all three short stories that introduce The Slaver Wars science fiction series are together. The Slaver Wars has currently sold over 100,000 copies. Listen to how it all began.

Disaster has struck the first Moon landing to be attempted in years. Commander Jason Strong and his fellow lunar explorer Greg Johnson have become stranded with no way home. In desperation, they set off in their lunar rover to check out an anomaly they discovered on their descent. What they find will shake their beliefs and what they know of human history. It is the beginning of an adventure that will take them far out into the Solar System and to a discovery that is beyond belief.

This is an incredible series! I didn't listen to this book first I started with The Slaver Wars: Alien Contact: The Slaver Wars Book Two (The Slaver Wars Book One) (Volume 1).

It was absolutely amazing! Looks of action, epic battles scenes, and just wow! Excellent story, don't want to give too many spoilers, but very exciting. After hearing and listening to that, I then listened to this one, which is a slower pace but provides much of the now what? After you hear Alien Contact.

Personally, I think you should start with Alien Contact, before listening to this, or it won't be as powerful!

Great series! Really good voice acting too!

Awesome Series!

Poorly edited, much of the dialog repeats. I got the feeling the author forgot what he had written previously and didn't bother to read his own work. I plan to try book 2, so it was good enough I guess.

Entertaining, BUT.....

Moon landing by two of our astronauts, Jason and Greg gone bad. Just as they were landing radio interference caused their electronics to malfunction. Their lander rested partially in a crater causing the craft to tip to one side. With no radio they could not contact earth to tell them of their plight. They were stranded. They believed the interference was local and which direction it came from. Getting the rover out of the spaceship they headed out to find the source of the interference and disable it. Coming over a ridge they stopped in amazement with what they saw. A crashed alien spacecraft! This set the tone for the rest of the book and the beginning of the series. A very interesting tale that caught my interest immediately. The writing is excellent and the characters likable, although Gregg seemed a bit dimwitted at times always depending upon Jason. Other than that, very well done.

Great beginning to a sci-fi series.

Any additional comments?

Big fan of the jaundra but I don't usually write reviews. The incessant whining by ex-military test pilots, commercial space pioneers, and the first earthers to travel FTL and all they do is incessantly whine about missing family! Get another job if you so want to stay home! You are explores for Pete's sake COWBOY UP! Yes deployments are difficult got it the first six times. It is a novel move on!

Stop whining!

Any additional comments?

I like the story concept. This is my first book by this author and narrator. I read a few reviews and I have to agree that the writing is on a novice level. However, if you can get by a few things that the characters seem to say over and over it's worth listening too. I did purchase two more books and the writing does get better.

Hard to listen to at first.

The story was “ok”, the author rushed the story line and was too repetitive on the details along the story. There is absolutely no reason to describe the same details every time they use FTL, describing the same details about the races met and many other things. It makes the story repetitive and boring to the reader and the listener. The story has potential, plus the skipping so much Time takes away from the entire story line. The issues the crew ram onto when arriving on earth could have made up an entire additional book but the author chose to mention it in passing. The author missed out on the great potential this story line had. I still finished every book in reading and have been listening to them in hopes that the constant repeating the details might have been filtered out but no such luck.

I have both read books and listening

Having read a few of the author's other books. I decided that l would have to go back and start reading from the beginning. I am happy that I did, will look forward to book 2.

The start of a good series

He writes like this was in an anthology. Repeat repeat repeat in every chapter! Once is enough. Also, how many times does he have to talk about a persons family relations. There is enough story to develop, don't write about interpersonal conflicts that are impossible to believe in the first place. (Brother/sister relationships!???)

Show don't tell

Read this and the first two books of the series and I'm hooked! Great action! Especially in Book 2. Don't want to give any spoilers, but really great series! Also the narration and effects are great! Highly recommend!
