About this listen

Admiral Kurt Vickers is on fleet maneuvers in the Newton System when a heavily damaged Earth light cruiser appears. The captain tells a horrific story. Earth has been invaded, and the defensive fleets in orbit have been annihilated.

For decades, humans have been exploring farther and farther away from Earth and Newton searching for signs of intelligent life. Now that intelligent life has found them, it comes as an invader.

The enemy is ruthless, powerful, and has a disdain for human life. Admiral Vickers has his small fleet taskforce and is hopelessly outnumbered. However, even in darkness there is light, and Admiral Vickers will do whatever is necessary to free Earth from the invaders, even if he has to travel to the worst hellhole in the galaxy to do it.

Is this Thomas the Tank Engine

The story sounded like an episode of Thomas the tank engine or something else off PBS. If you can get past the writing style, the story is not that bad.

An excellent new series

I always enjoy Galactic Empire wars and Slaver wars but this series has an even more interesting premise. I very much enjoyed the book and look forward to the next!

Keep the audiobooks of Slaver Wars, Galactic Empire and this series coming and you have yourself a loyal fan!

Young Adult science fiction at best

Story was rather basic, lacking any deep thought. Author clearly has no understanding of the military, Geopolitics or the value of items.

Not for me.

Tried the first 10 minute of the audio book. Performer has a somewhat whiny voice that grates. The writing is juvenile. The dialog less than genuine. A pass for me.

a fun listen

Good story line interesting characters the flesh out and become the story.
Liam Owen does an overall good job with his narration. the supposedly six year old was less than believable I raised three boys and two girls.
the character was two young and too simple to be a six year old.
Saying that I will continue the series and keep purchasing both Kindle and Audible editions.

Waste of time

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Boring

Would you ever listen to anything by Raymond L. Weil again?

No
This book has too much politics. I read Sci Fi for the battle stories. This is way too much political in-fighting.

Could you see The Star Cross being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No
