Silkman boasts an impressive playing career which lasted 16 years, playing for 11 different clubs including Manchester City. A gifted and skillful player, he was your archetypal Cockney, with Romany gypsy appearance with a shock of black curly hair, tan and socks rolled around his ankles.

Entertaining stories of nature with a moral lesson thrown in for good measure are fun as well as thought provoking. Children will be enthralled with the intimate look into the lives of the woodland creatures and their way of life. Subtleness in making a moral point is always a strength in Ms. Gatty’s stories.

Story
Kay’s life is pretty boring. She goes to school, spends quiet evenings at home with her foster mom, and has the occasional brush with mischief thanks to her best and only friend Will. But everything is about to change. One night, Kay tags along on another one of Will’s adventures, and they both end up recruited by a talking fox to become Netherjacks, protectors of all the worlds. Once they arrive at the training academy, though, Will is paired with a legendary Netherwing mount and quickly rises in the trainee ranks, leaving Kay behind with barely a glance.

What did you love best about Mossflower?
I have read the entire Mossflower series and enjoy the audible books as well. What was one of the most memorable moments of Mossflower?
None in particularWhat did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Voices were easy to listen to but not really altogether how I had imagined some of them.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Neither. As good as the written books

Any additional comments?
Mossflower is easily one of my very favorite books in the Redwall series, and hearing it narrated as an audiobook brought it to life in a truly charming fashion. Jacques has an amazing storytelling voice, and the cast did an excellent job with all the different accents. I didn't want to stop listening. The book is filled with adventure, along with the warmth of true friendship and community, a cast of intricate characters, heroism against mad and bumbling foes, and clever wit. Oh, and gratuitous descriptions of food, of course!
Mossflower will be thoroughly enjoyed by listeners of any age.
Adventure, charm and wit, narrated beautifully
