Captivating story

This is a captivating story to the very end. Lots of foreshadowing keeps you wondering. Lots of fun little pokes to the culture of 1984. Also deals well with a boy’s emotions with this serious illness of his mother, and still dealing with the loss of his father.

Adventure, fantasy, and heart

The whole family loved it! Zeno Robinson does a great job reading this fantasy adventure set in 1980's smalltown America. Looking forward to the sequel.

Unique story and a good listen

We were excited for this book after The Green Ember series. It was completely unique from those books. The story was fresh and engaging.
The narrator did an excellent job with the different voices.

A fantastic story of struggle and victory

This story was interesting and a bit mysterious. With mythical creatures mixed in with reality. A book that was hard to put down and left me wondering what would be next.
