This short steampunky adventure with a flavour of thirties movie serials was inspired by a Twitter conversation the author had with singer Thea Gilmore in early 2013, and then by her song "Start As We Mean To Go On". As the story progressed, other Thea songs lent their titles easily to the remaining three episodes, and more song titles found their way into the text. The name "Moth Girl' came out of an anagram of Thea's name in fact Ratporchrico's opening phrase in this story is that very anagram.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It's campy and fun, all the way through. A nice, easy listen that's perfect for a workout or a commute.Have you listened to any of Matt Thurston’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't heard a bad performance from Matt Thurston. He definitely knows what he's doing. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A rollicking ride, on the wings of a giant bat!Any additional comments?
I'm not much into steampunk, but I've read other works by Michael Wombat. Each is a load of fun, so I knew this would be as well. Moth Girl didn't disappoint. It's short enough to get through in one sitting, and is campy and action-packed all the way through. The narrative is easy to follow, and the voices are amazing. Though there is a moment of sexiness, it's nothing above PG-13, and can be listened to with children in the room.Steampunk Superheroes!

Thea, because she was active and intelligent and amusing. What about Matt Thurston’s performance did you like?
He reads with good feeling and energy, and does voices (and accents) very well, so that each character is well-differentiated and given real personality. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
