About this listen

The audiobook version of the best-selling novel, performed by actors from the Mount Hideaway Mysteries movie series. An exciting and heartfelt story that draws teens and parents together.

In a small Virginia town outside a mysterious government facility, four homeschooled teenagers investigate a series of murders and other crimes while wrestling with challenges of faith, family, and the transition from childhood to adulthood. A tragic explosion devastates the town of Steven’s Mill, Virginia. Was it an accident or was it part of a larger plot to take over the town and shut down the work going on at the secret command center?

This first book in the Mount Hideaway Mysteries series of books and movies sets the stage for all the action and adventure to come. This series features gripping drama and entertainment from a faith-based perspective.

The vivid writing placed me inside each scene!

loved this! Well crafted story with multi-layered yet relatable characters. The beautifully descriptive writing grabbed me and the voices of the characters transported me into each scene and allowed me to lose myself in their world. This engaging mystery has unexpected twists throughout that kept me needing to hear more. it is so nice to listen to a book with families who love and respect each other and whose faith is woven into their everyday life. I'll be waiting for the next MOUNT HIDEAWAY MYSTERY to come out!

Great listen with rich characters and a suspenseful storyline

I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t expect it to have as much suspense as it did, but I couldn’t read it fast enough as the story unfolded. I liked that the teens were portrayed as genuine people with real struggles as they dealt with evil and their faith walk.
Being a homeschool mom I appreciated that homeschooling is woven into the character’s lives and how that has positively impacted their character. I also enjoyed the use of a male and female reader as it made the dialog come to life.

A Charming Faith-Based Adventure, Well Performed

It's hard to find clean entertainment that's also exciting and of high production quality. It's even harder to find stories that portray people of faith in a believable and respectful way. This audiobook delivers a great mystery story, suitable for teens and adults. (It's a murder mystery, so not intended for little kids)

It weaves the faith element into the daily lives of characters in a way that feels natural and not forced or "preachy". As a homeschooling parent, I appreciate the homeschooling kids and parents are portrayed in a positive light. I was also touched by the tender and genuine portrayals of parent-teen relationships.

If you're one of those people who thinks audiobooks should "just be read" and not "performed", don't get this audiobook. But if you're looking for an engaging and immersive experience, then you'll love it. The narrators are very expressive and bring lots of life and fun to the characters and accents.

Looking forward to more installments in this series.
