Revenge is not always sweet.
Can their love survive a feud between mountain people and the moonshiners who are determined to take away all they hold dear?
Phoebe Lillie grows worried when her PA doesn't return after what she thought was a routine hunting trip. Then, the new handsome school teacher arrives in Pine Ridge and starts wanting to make changes with his city ways. She resents his attentions, wanting only to find her PA. When she and the teacher stumble across an illegal whiskey still, they are thrust into a feud that threatens to tear them and the Ozark mountain hollow apart. Then Phoebe is subjected to a horrible attack. Revenge fills her soul. Can God bring her out of her suffocating need for revenge before she loses Jacob's love?
Jacob Wright takes the job of school teacher in Pine Ridge after his job in law enforcement results in an innocent woman's untimely death. He's sworn never to draw his gun on another living person. He doesn't expect his new job to put him in the middle of a feud straight out of the Wild West. Jacob must choose between his resolve and the life of the woman he loves.
Set during the Depression in the Ozark mountains, this story is sure to please listeners of both historical and romantic suspense. Full of grace, forgiveness, and redemption, it still has plenty of danger for the most avid suspense fan.

This is the first book in the series I have read. I see there are three earlier books. Since I haven't read the earlier ones, I can't comment on consistency in the characters.
Kate seems a bit over goody goody in this novel. She wants to fix everyone, and gets in deep trouble.
The novel drug in some places, but overall it held my attention; and had me guessing "who did it?" When I find a little more time I will go back and check out the earlier novels.

If you could sum up Mountain Redemption: A Christian Historical Romance in three words, what would they be?
Ozark mountain hollowWhat other book might you compare Mountain Redemption: A Christian Historical Romance to and why?
I am sorry but I don't ever remember reading a book set in the prohibition era or set in the 20's. Not my usual reading habit. Only audio books is how I would ever read this type of book. Christian themed books by these authors that I have listened to are similar in different ways and I have enjoyed them for the good feeling I get when reading about the good and bad of the human soul. Karen Kingsbury, Lori Wick, Lauraine Snelling, Debbie Macomber, and Colleen Coble. What about Angie Hickman’s performance did you like?
Angie did a really fine job, her voice really fit the spitfire Phoebe. Her voice had the courage and strength formed from Phoebe's spirituality and poverty. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, I was so appalled when Phoebe was raped. I could feel her shame, but her being a realist, she kept going, all she could do, didn't dwell too much on it. She just knew she would now be a spinster not knowing that love conquers all. Knowing this has to have a favorable ending, I was waiting for the rapist to get his due.1925-Small town in the Ozarks
