About this listen

The billionaire always gets what he wants. This time, he wants me....

My trip to London was the first lucky break I've had in years. It came at just the right time, allowing me to escape my sad reality for a bit. And the guy I met on the flight? Perfection. The short week we spent together was filled with raw, unbridled, and passionate nights. But it couldn't last. I'm a single mom with a troubled past and a shady ex. Romance just isn't in the cards for me. Which is why I walked away from Jim and didn't look back.

That was before I landed my new job. Before I met the boss. Before I discovered that Mr. James Mitchell, CEO, was my Jim - my unforgettable Jim from our week together in England. Judging by the smile on his face when he sees me, he remembers everything. And now he wants more. He wants me.

The timing is terrible. My life's a mess, and I just know my ex will do something to ruin me. Again. But none of that matters when I'm in Jim's arms.

So, what are the odds that I'm finally due for my very own happily ever after?

With my luck? Not bloody likely.

Contains mature themes.

Protective Mom ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿💵💙

Jim and Avery have a sweet meet cute, and end up spending time together on his estate in England. It’s fun to live in pretend world. Then reality kicks in, and it isn’t until later that pretend becomes real.

I had to admire her dedication to her daughter, if somewhat misunderstand in what could happen due to her past. It was disappointing to see Jim’s reaction, especially to someone he told he loved.

It’s always good when people overcome their past to find a new beginning. In the end they have a nice love story.

The narrators do a great job.

Decent story

Good story overall but I’m sorry- I do NOT like her voice for a romance- it was still semi-monotonous. And for a romance, it was written so business formally…like there was still a stick partially up there….. idk- those two factors made me disappointed… but great potential

Whirlwind romance

I love how fiercely independent and strong the main character is. She doesn’t hold back and she fights for what she believes in. I also love how caring and thoughtful he is with her. Definitely a passionate whirlwind romance, which is probably why their arguments were dramatic and unnecessarily controversial.

Great second books

I really enjoyed this book at that they kept the other characters involved to keep the story line going. The last few chapters skipped ahead in time a lot rushing the story??

mostly good

liked the story. definitely topics worth thinking about... co-dependence, enabling, denial. a lot of smiles mixed in too. my complaint is repetitiveness - if I had heard "bliss" or "gorgeous" one more time I think I may have exploded. this is what EDITORS are supposed to fix.

Funny, romantic, and satisfying.

It's hard to explain how much this story touches the readers' emotions; you'll laugh and cry, and even feel anger, but when you reach the end, you'll be smiling big.

Some may disagree with my only caveat, but I have to say it: strong emotions in a book can be expressed just as thoroughly without using the names of God and Jesus in vain. Author, you are way too good a writer to resort to this and risk alienating many your readers. I bet you can come up with at least a dozen other expressions that are much better.

And beyond that, I have no other criticisms. I do, however, want to wish that some day in the near future, you'll jump ahead in time (use those time-travel binoculars!) and give us Addison's story. She's absolutely adorable!

Welllll

I liked the storyline- was deeply thought out and realistic. The performance was soooo boring. Puckett and Snow together are not a good pair. They are both monotone and left the story flat. I love Aiden Snow as a solo performer, but he needs to be paired with a female voice that gives the performance life. I skipped over some of the longer winded parts to get to the end because I did enjoy the book. I’m glad I never used a credit after listening to the first book and waited for it to be included in the membership.

The love

The love and healing of this story is amazing. The character of the little girl is so so sweet. Loved this book!
