About this listen

Jude:

What do you do when you wake up with a hangover and find yourself in bed with your best friend's younger brother?

Who happens to be your new brother-in-law?

The man who drives you crazy.

The man who always skated by on fast-talk, good looks, and a bright smile.

The one who makes you want to break all the rules.

You hire him as your assistant, of course.

And pray you can keep your sanity.

And your hands off him.

Mason:

How do you prove you've changed?

That you're no longer the party boy who always needed rescuing from his own mistakes - and boy you've made some big ones.

But no one needs to know your secrets.

You take a job with the one man who doesn't trust you.

Who's waiting for you to screw up.

You try and forget that one explosive night together.

Except you can't.

And to your shock...neither can he.

What do you do when the one man you can't imagine living with is the one you can't live without?

New View

There were times when I got frustrated at both of these men and the way that neither one of them was being honest about their feelings. But you could also respect their history both personally and the interaction with each other. The road to a relationship was rocky and put to the test but I love that in the end they worked it out and were strong for it.
I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much.

There’s a new man in lots of us !

Good story about how each of two men can grow when each either allows or helps the other one do it. Great self-recognition, too. Perfect reader, as well.

Another Felice Favorite!

First off I just love Kale Williams soothing voice and his fluid inflections. I do have to say that I had a bit of issue differentiating characters voices this time but that’s not usually the norm.

Now don’t read below if you don’t want minimal spoilers.

I want to be friends with Mason. He is fun and sexy and all about his uptight brother in law. Now Jude took a while for me to fall for, but I definitely got there. The set up for there relationship was rough, but I liked that their families were aware that they disliked each other but had a romp that Jude just want to forget. I think it helped tamp down the angst that could have developed.
All in all great story and it lifted my mood.

WOW!

I loved this opposites attract/best friends brother/enemies to lovers story so much!
Mr. Uptight gives us Jude, a man who has devoted his life to his family. Now that his sister has married his best friend what is he supposed to focus his attention on? Enter Mason, said best friends younger brother. Mason has lived far away from family for the past 10 years. He has grown and matured yet Jude still sees him as the troublesome teenager he used to be.

I loved the hot chemistry between these two! When they allow themselves to see beyond the memories of the past they are able to look below the surface and get to know the real person.

As always, Felice Stevens creates characters that are layered, real and full of life's realities.
Jude and Mason balance each other perfectly. They earned the HEA they fight so hard for!
Kale Williams does an amazing job of narrating this story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok, so...wow. This book is now one of my top favorites of the year. I don’t even need to think about it. It captured my attention from the moment I began, and I’m actually a little sad it’s over. I’m going to have to have a cleanser before I’m able to commit my mind and heart to another book. I most definitely have all the symptoms of a common book hangover. 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

I love a grumpy character—love, love, LOVE them. Jude, Mr. Uptight, himself, was definitely grumpy. He probably didn’t even realize it. He is so absorbed with being the caretaker and provider to his sister, that he promised his dying mom he would be. I somehow think his mom didn’t mean for him to take it so literally, but here we are. He’s made it his life mission, at the cost of his own happiness. That broke my heart for him. It was obvious that, while he was loudly uptight and grumpy, he was quietly a mix Prince Charming and Mother Teresa. I wanted him to embrace his own well-being so badly. 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

Mason is the sunshine to Jude’s grumpy demeanor. Mason has his own demons to fight, in the form of past Mason. He wants so badly to prove he’s more than the f*** up he’s remembered as. My heart ached for him, too, because, despite his mistakes, he wasn’t a bad seed or person. He was more than his past, and he was such a beautiful person, inside and out. He has so much to give, and is finally ready to settle down, back home, near his family. No matter how hard he tries to move on, parts of his past come back and he’s faced with everything he feared. 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻 👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

This book was highly addicting and very engaging. I switched back and forth between listening to the audiobook (brought to life by the amazing narrator, Kale Williams, who did the characters, emotions, and story justice with his narration) and reading the ebook format. This story was very well written with incredible depth and realism to its characters. I loved the flow and build of their relationship. Seeing how it starts the morning after a wild night together, you couldn’t call this a slow burn, but the build-up for future sexy times was perfectly done and felt true to their situation. I enjoyed their banter, even when they butted heads. I loved how they both had something that brought out the best in the other. I just love this entire book. Whether you read the book or listen to the audiobook, this is a book you need to add to your collection. Not only will it leave you with a smile on your face, but it will also leave you feeling hopeful and with a full heart.

Felice Stevens and Kale Williams are a Dream Team

Mr. Uptight is a stand-alone, MM romance featuring great characters and wonderfully snarky dialogue. Jude Staubman is very serious and structured. He doesn’t know how to let himself be any other way. But underneath his uptight exterior is a tenderhearted man who takes on responsibility for others. Although they start out as adversaries, Mason Reiner is his perfect match (despite Jude’s reservations). Mason shows Jude how to let go and have a bit of fun. And their chemistry is smoking! There’s also much sweetness and romance between these two. They each complement the other’s personality and bring out the best in one another. Felice Stevens has another hit with this book.

Kale Williams does a terrific job narrating this book. He’s quickly become one of my favorite narrators because he’s so entertaining. I love the way he portrays the characters’ emotions and moods. His narration pulls you in and and makes you feel like the story is happening around you.

UPTIGHT IS ALRIGHT!

Jude and Mason have some issues they need to confront before they can find their HEA together. The road towards getting to their destination of happiness is sexy, sweet, and owning the wrongs, then making them right. Their story was good. Real good. The narrator did a great job. I so recommend. Enjoy!
