Well written and romantic

Enjoyed this story from start to finish. Very relatable. Narration was a bit stilted in the beginning but after the narrator got comfortable with the characters he did a good job. Want to listen to more in this series.

Sweet and Enjoyable

This was a really enjoyable listen. I liked watching Win and Eliot meet and then find themselves growing into an unexpected relationship. I found myself cheering on hopeful Eliot and grieving Win. If you're in the mood for a sweet love story where there is an actual relationship developing and not instalove, this is an audiobook you will enjoy. The narrator was new-to-me but did well and is someone I'll listen to again.

Sweet story…hard to get through

The story was sweet, but felt that perhaps the narrator made it hard to commit to finishing the book…though I did. I struggled throughout trying to figure out if it was the narrator or the text. When I heard the narrator read the credits this was the voice I wish I had heard throughout. I believe the text may have been the issue…there were too many moments where the text felt bland offering data vs a personal story.

Great story made mediocre by narrator.

Loved the story, but almost stopped listening because of the awful narration. I thought it lacked emotion where it should have been and his voice was somewhat monotonous in parts. Hoping that another narrator is found for the rest of the series.

Absolutely Love It!

I love everything about this book: the writing style, character development, realistic storyline, and depth of characters. A truly interesting book I could not tear myself away from. I'm always leery of new narrators, but Denis did a lovely job of telling this story. Ready to dive right into Footsteps of the Past! Highly recommend!

Looking Forward to More

So Denis Lambert is a new to me narrator and I googled him and found all his wonderful acting work. I hope he continues to do more audiobooks because I loved the voices he gave to this group of friends.

As far as the book itself Felice always writes characters that charm and gut you. Sometimes you want to smash them over the head in frustration too, but you are always rooting for the HEA she brings.
I will say that the side characters really grabbed my attention in this story so I can’t wait for more of Wolfey, Spencer, Chess and Andre.

Great Story and Great Narration

Felice Stevens has another hit on her hands with ”The List”. I really enjoyed this first book in her new series Second Chances. In “The List” she does some great world building to set the stage for upcoming books, and she introduces us to an interesting cast of characters who have been best friends since college.

Book one features Elliot, who has been unlucky in love, and Win who is merely existing since the loss of his husband. Elliot is sweet and vulnerable and I liked him from the start. He just wants to find happiness and settle down with someone who makes him a priority. Win isn’t looking for a relationship after suffering a devastating loss. My heart hurt for Win, who seemed adrift and was going through the motions instead of living a life.

I like that Elliot and Win start off as friends who slowly build up to more. Neither of these guys was in a place to rush into anything, and their relationship felt organic and real to me. Felice Stevens always does a wonderful job creating real characters who seem like everyday people.

I can’t wait to read the next stories in this series. I’m already intrigued by book 2, which features an already established couple.

Denis Lambert did a very good job with the narration of this book. He gave different voices to each character and infused emotion into the dialogue as well as the inner monologue. I read the ebook before listening to the audiobook and Denis fits the characters just as I had envisioned them.

LOVED

The List is the first in a new series by Felice Stevens. I can tell I am already a huge fan of the Second Chances series.
Win and Elliott have won my heart right from the start. Felice has the magic touch of creating characters that the reader immediately connects with. I ached for what Win has gone through in his past and loved seeing him open himself up to possibilities. Elliott is so used to being who he thinks the other person wants he forgets how wonderful his true self is. Watching his self discovery happen is amazing.
I love a book I can emotionally connect with and The List gives that and so much more.
Denis Lambert knocks it out of the park narrating this lovely story!
I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!

healing and growth

I feel the secret baggage Eli and Win each had helped make their bond together stronger after each was revealed and their pain was shared. I empathized with the rocky road each traveled in their journey. I admired Eli standing up for a mom that withheld her love, because I don't think I could have in his place. Hearing the epilogue brought tears to my eyes- happy and sad. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life.

Win & Elliot

I loved Win and Elliot’s story, so much so I snagged the audio when it came out as well. Denis Lambert is a new to me narrator, and I was really impressed! I really loved the voices for Win and Elliot. I was really drawn into the story, even coming on the heels of having just read the book. I felt so connected to Win and Elliott’s story. If possible, their story came across even more was sweet and romantic with narration. I could really feel their relationship developing from friendship to more. I felt so much for Elliot in his desire to be loved and to find someone to share his life with. If there was someone who deserved to be loved it was Elliot. Win had been dealt a huge loss, making him feel like he could never love again. I enjoyed seeing his heart open to Elliot, and relaxing he may be able to love again. I enjoyed how their relationship developed from friends with benefits to more. There were some really touching points throughout the story that really pulled at my emotions. It was wonderful seeing these men find their hearts in each other.
