Publisher's summary

A simple request opens up a savory mystery.

Hannah never imagined her high-school service project with the elderly would draw her into another mystery. Mrs. Tedesco, a lonely widow who loves to bake, has just one request - that the teen retrieve her cookbook from her old house. Easier said than done. The house has been ransacked and the coveted cookbook is nowhere to be found.

Eager to help the woman, Hannah and her sister, Tamar, are driven to locate the cookbook and uncover its secrets. But the teens aren’t the only ones seeking the cookbook’s hidden treasures, and the other side is playing for keeps.

complicated mystery

This was no simple mystery, and I enjoyed following along. The sister were observant, smart, and curious which helped piece things together. Their dad seemed a bit overbearing for my tastes. A second chance for Leonard was very generous, and I hope he used it wisely. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

4/5

Genre: YA mystery (low end, would even say MG)

Summary:

A high school project to do good deeds for the residents of an old folks’ home leads Hannah and Tamar into another mystery.

Additional Comments:

· Characters aren’t well developed, but they’re in that brand of inherently good and wholesome mystery solvers like classic Nancy Drew. (Pretty sure it’s designed that way.)

· The girls’ involvement in the mystery is a bit of a stretch.

· The story goes through a few twists, so that’s nice.

· Kind of wish there was an actual sense of danger. Waiting for somebody to get kidnapped here. Guess it’s not that kind of series. Pity, would make it a bit more zippy. As is, it’s okay. Closer to the rebook Nancy Drew where she was running around solving who stepped on the garden green squash.

Conclusion:

If you like 100% safe and tame mysteries for your young readers, this is a great series to try.

* I received a copy of the audiobook. I have chosen to review the book. All thoughts are my own.

This was a cute, enjoyable, light mystery!

I really enjoyed this light mystery. It was cute. There were several mysteries wrapped up into the main mystery and the characters were well developed and likeable. I listened while cleaning and it made an activity that isn't much fun much better. I would definitely recommend this book.

Clean, interesting mystery

This is a clean book which will appeal to high school students who like mysteries. Hannah’s high school group decides to help out at a local senior’s home. She is paired with Mrs. Tedesco, who has recently moved into the home. She asks Hannah to bring back her beloved cookbook. What could go wrong? Hannah finds a trashed house, secret hiding places … then there’s Mrs. Tedesco’s missing son, identity theft … what on earth is going on? Hannah and her sister, Tamara, team up with the police to help solve the mystery. This was well-narrated. I received a free copy of this audiobook, with no obligation.

Another Mystery

Mrs. Tedesco's Missing Cookbook is Book 2 in A Hannah and Tamar Mystery by Christa Nardi and Cassidy Salem. I enjoyed this sweet mystery and it's enjoyable characters. Julie McCarthy is fabulous in her performance as the narrator. The voices she used were spot on! As Hannah's High School service project is to spend time with an elderly resident at a senior living facility, she meets Mrs. Tedesco. The mystery is where is the missing cookbook and who trashed her house. I really enjoy listening to this series. The authors have written an enjoyable series. I can't wait to listen to book 3, The Misplaced Dog. I believe that the series is perfect for young and old alike.

Sisters' Mystery

This was the second book in the "Hannah and Tamar Mystery" series, and I liked it more than the first one. I thought that this mystery was more woven throughout the tale, and I enjoyed getting to know the characters better. This story had action-packed scenes and more seemed to be happening as the tale unfolded. I recommend this book to others who enjoy this genre. Julie McCarthy's narration was great, and her voice was pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Cute

The book started off slow, but picked up towards the middle, I thought that the father and some of the other characters were a bit strong towards the girls, the narrator was OK, but did not show a lot of emotions or something like that but I still enjoyed it

Love the series so far!

This is the second book in the Hannah and Tamar Mystery series and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The narrator, Julie McCarthy, did a wonderful job bringing all the characters to life. You can't go wrong with any book written by Christa Nardi or narrated by Julie McCarthy. I only wish these books were longer. I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review & I look forward to listening to more books by both the narrator & the author.
