Publisher's summary

They were the DeMeo gang - the most deadly hit men in organized crime. Their Mafia higher-ups came to know, use, and ultimately fear them as the Murder Machine. They killed for profit and for pleasure, following cold-blooded plans and wild whims, from the mean streets of New York to the Florida Gold Coast, and from coast to coast.

Now complete with personal revelations of one of the key players, this is the savage story that leaves no corpse unturned in its terrifying telling.

True Crime to the bones

A very factual account of one of the family factions of John Gotti. There is a lot of information in this that it gets overwhelming at times to keep up. Its not super story like for obvious reasons that ita a non fiction book. The narrator was decent but nothing special. It was still a very fun read with good but not great writing

Crazy true story

Ordering pizza and hotdogs. All while chopping up bodies of their enemies. Very interesting and quick read.

Inside look into the infamous Demeo Crew

The book focuses on the early days of Roy Demeo and his struggle to get inducted into the Gambino crime family in the 1970s, and its disturbing role in local crime.

Narrator is tough to listen to

Something about his cadence is not pleasing to the ear. Whiney, monotone and no emotion or imagination. Every sentence arches and ends in the same manner. I cannot listen to this person again. Content-wise, it was ok. I'm a mafia buff.

Informative

To make a true story informative and enjoyable is not easy. This was both. Thank you.

great book

I really like books and stories about this crew. They're more fascinating than Gotti. Too bad there isn't more about these guys.

Accurate telling of the Demeo crew from all angles

Great listen that keeps you interested all throughout. Even includes mentions of other Gambino family heavyweights. Narrator does well with names and voices. A good listen for those who enjoy stories about the mob and just those who enjoy true crime as while Roy Demeo was a mobster he definitely fits the bill as a psycho serial killer as well. He's not your average gangster and neither were his crew of degenerates.

The BEST. Bar none.

The story and all the characters are constructed so well. One can really see what made them tick. The whole picture of LCN at each level, from Don Carlo to the most marginal wannabee, is so clear. The action moves so well. I feel like I was there.
