The story and plot line are very engrossing. All of the clues are laid out clearly so you cannot complain that something has been sprung out of the blue. Thatcher is such a great character and the weaving of his personality and financial background makes for very entertaining mystery. Also the dialogue is very well written and clever.
The ONLY criticism is unfortunately a big one. The reader is barely tolerable. I like the voice although it could be a little more polished. BUT, the constant mispronunciations and stumbling over words and complete sentences is maddening. I read these books 30 years ago. I enjoyed them so much that when I accidentally found them on Audible I decided to listen to them all over again. The books are just as enjoyable even though the times are somewhat dated I find that makes them even more interesting. BUT PLEASE can the reader prepare better or edit some of the bigger problems? It really cuts into my enjoyment.

Great characters and intriguing storylines
