About this listen

A novel about love, the crack-up of the USA, and refusing to back down when the whole world calls you crazy.

It’s two decades in the future, and a Christian college student named Ace Hartwick has just destroyed his neighbor’s so-called “wife”—actually a sexbot named Sally—in a trash compactor. Soon, Ace will be on trial for murder.

Unfortunately for Ace, everyone despises his kind of “radical” Christianity, and, in the fragile America of the future, all the juries are fixed.

Absolutely loved the book, the premise is spot on, wish I’d gotten it years ago!
Glad it is read by the author.

I was hesitant at first due to the title. I didn’t want to read a trashy book. However, I found the book entertaining, clean, and enjoyable. I few laugh out loud moments during the trial. Good ending!

Good story

Great story that expresses the zeitgeist. The law has become unjust & in defense of wickedness. Fight back.

The main character undergoes the judgment & hatred & scrutiny that often fall upon the author, unjustly.

I enjoyed every moment of this book! My favorite aspect is what a high view Doug Wilson clearly has of the gospel and what it can accomplish. Highly recommend.

Very enjoyable

An inspiring, comically peppered & culturally poignant ride. Perhaps the most memorable portion (which I went back to listen to again) was Ace’s (the protagonist) description of the 10-minute temptation experienced when he encountered the topless Sally - wow. However, having been involved in several trials as part of my career, I was disappointed by several highly unrealistic courtroom surprises during the trial.

Fantastic, except the courtroom surprises.

Although fiction, there seems to be an uncanny similarity to our future state here in this country: almost like a future doppelgänger

Almost like prophecy

This was a well written, exciting, all to brief story. Like most great dystopian literature, it may become a prophetic text in our lifetimes…

Fun, but disturbingly foreshadowing.

Doug Wilson wrote an amazing novel. Highly recommended for all to read. I'm sure you will enjoy.

Funny, thought provoking, and very prophetic

Wilson has, again, created an edifying and witty work which satiricallly addresses the inevitably insane world we're heading towards. Excellent story. I will certainly be listening to it again.

Phenomenal. Will read again.
